T-10 Prospects

1. SP Henry LaLane (Yankees) - A

ETA: 2029

Comp: AJ Puk

Prime Skills: LaLane is a big lefty who (of course… Yankees prospect) had a ton of hype back in 2024 after a killer 2023 complex showing and failed to live up to it, however since May 23rd, he has been a completely different pitcher with 50 strikeouts and 10 walks in 35 innings, only giving up 14 hits and 5 runs. LaLane has an above average fastball from both a velocity and a movement perspective, but he has subpar command of it and the big turn has been an increase in slider usage from 19% (third use) prior to 5/23 to 26% after May 23rd and over his last two starts the slider has become his primary pitch at 31% usage. The slider is more of a slow sweeper with a lot of horizontal movement and has a ridiculous 49.7% CSW on the year 24% SwStr% and is his best pitch from a command perspective. The sinker is a sub-par pitch that has good velocity, but he was throwing it way too much… the command is not great and it does not generate many groundballs. The change up is nasty and the more he throws the slider / sweeper, the better the change up performs as it keeps hitters off balance. He has good command of the change up and the biggest factor on continuing growth will be fastball command and the potential to develop a gyro slider. LaLane has 12 strikeouts this week, 0 walks and only gave up 1 hit in 7 innings.

2. SP Brady Smith (Dodgers) - A

ETA: 2029

Comp: Michael King and Luis Castillo mash

Prime Skills: Just what the Dodgers need, another good prospect. Smith was a third rounder in 2023 out of high school and was drafted at that spot even though he had just received Tommy John surgery, showing just how high they were on his potential. Smith throws from an 1-2 o-clock over the top arm-slot and is known as a big time fastball / change up guy and while we don’t have pitch level data on the west coast, he has a very strong five pitch mix that has resulted in a 17% SwStr% on the season, a near 30% K-BB rate. He’s breaking out after 2025 was basically his build-up, get back to health year and everyone should keep an eye on him. The fastball is attributed with some nice ride, but also some good arm-side run giving it some sinker action. The change up is a diving change that falls off the table and might be one of the five best change ups in the minors. The slider has good velocity on it and has potential, but the cutter and curve are used more often for swinging strikes out this juncture. The movement on the cutter is average, but it holds good velocity and is more or less a foil against the arm-side movement on the fastball. The curve has good spin on it and could develop into a better pitch as he uses it more often. Smith had 11 strikeouts with 0 walks and only gave up one hit in 66 pitches thru 6 innings last week.

3. OF Cam Cannarella (Marlins) - AA

ETA: Early 2027

Comp: Brandon Nimmo

Prime Skills: Cannarella was a end of first round comp pick out of Clemson last year and was one of my favorite FYPD players coming into the year getting a Brandon Nimmo comparison for me out of college as a high average hitter with a plus plate approach. He’s added more of a leg kick this year and has opened his stance a little bit and it’s translating to more power this year. I don’t have exit velocity data post spring, but he has 8 bombs and 7 steals on the season though only 14 extra base hits in 40 games shows he’s more of an average and on base guy who should be able to peak around 20 bombs and 15 steals with a .280 average and .360 OBP.ala Nimmo. He has a ridiculous .374/.448/.585 slash as he has jumped from high A to AA this year and only improved. I expect him to potentially break camp next year with the Marlins and he should slot in as a top of the lineup hitter, but the fantasy upside is limited, though he had a heck of a week tagging 3 homers, 3 steals and 4 extra base hits. He’s faster than the stolen base totals will tell you, but so is Brandon Nimmo - so while he has 60 grade speed, he doesn’t run often at only a 14.5% attempt rate, thus the 50 grade speed rating.

4. SP Dylan Brown (Red Sox) - A+

ETA: 2028

Comp: Better Jake Bennett mashed with a much worse Framber Valdez

Prime Skills: Dylan Brown is the underdog of the week to watch, as an 8th rounder out of Old Dominion in 2025 (Teammate of Blake Morgan, last week T-10 and near repeat this week). Brown is a well built lefty whom the fScores love with a fantastic rise and run fastball from a ¾ arm-slot that overperforms, especially high in the zone based on his deceptive release point. His best pitch is a nasty sweeping slider that performs best low and away in the zone against both righties (in-zone) and lefties (chasing outside of the zone), but he will also back foot it against righties. The changeup is used primarily against righties away and has a significant amount of late drop and fade to throw hitters off the sweeper. The cutter is a true cutter rather than a gyro slider. Brown has potential plus command with a 51% strike rate and only 34% ball rate on the year and 2.42 JA ERA despite a .383 BABIP against. He’s extremely consistent with 7 outings of more than 7 strikeouts and only one outing with more than 3 walks on the year. This week he had 11 strikeouts with 0 walks, only giving up 2 hits in 7 shutout innings. Brown is an underrated name to watch as he’s a groundball (54% on the year) strikeout guy with above average command that could lean to plus. Get a good defense behind him and he’s a major league mid-rotation arm.

5. OF Fenwick Trimble (Marlins) - AA

ETA: Early 2027

Comp: Lane Thomas and Mitch Haniger mash

Prime Skills: Trimble is a 2024 4th rounder out of James Madison and the dude is built, he has a very strong frame and is leaning into more power this year with increasing exit velocities (to around major league average per Baseball America reports) with a solid hit tool and plus plate approach, though it should be noted the plate approach has fallen off some with the increase in power. Trimble also has plus speed and in my opinion looks like a future solid regular OF, but does have more upside if he can increase the power to an above average 55. He’s having a great season hitting .273/.351/458 with 10 homers, 27 extra base hits and 17 steals in 64 games. Trimble has also opened his stance up this year, not quite to Ivan Herrera levels but it’s like Lane Thomas with the front foot more open and he’s a line drive master that will likely hit to .350 BABIPs in his best seasons. This week Trimble hit .400 with 6 extra base hits, 2 homers and 2 stolen bases.

Hola Amigos, welcome to my weekly prospect report, now only found with an MLB Data Warehouse subscription! The goal of this column is to give you the most fantasy-relevant prospect information throughout the last week, all in one place. The format of this weekly prospect report will be a run-through of my top 15-20 prospects of the week, with a goal to get at least three prospects at each level (DSL - AAA).

Sorry that we missed weeks 8-10, but I spent 2 weeks writing my updated prospect rankings and a third week on vacation.

I will try my best to highlight new prospects every week, rather than repeat names, unless the repeat is so warranted I just can’t help myself.

This should not be seen as a weekly stash rankings, but as a ranking of top performers each week through all levels. My updated top 150 rankings can currently be found on MLB Data Warehouse, and thanks to Jon, we will now have regularly updated fScores throughout the year.

T-10 Prospects

1. OF Joshua Baez (Cardinals) - AAA

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Byron Buxton / Jo Adell mash up

Prime Skills: Baez is a big, toolsy OF the Cardinals drafted in the second round of the 2021 draft who had massively improved contact rates in 2025, but has struggled contact-wise, namely against off-speed pitches from righties and breakers in general in 2026. Baez has still managed to mash some 114 max EVs and a 107.4 90th percentile EV in 2026, along with some moon shots in AAA and this Spring where I saw him hit a few homers in person. He has 30/30 type tools if he can put the hit tool together. The contact rates continued to improve throughout the season and was over 80% from August 1st onward, so hopefully the contact rates start improving as he’s been too boom or bust this year and is profiling as a weak-side platoon guy if he were to get an early call-up prior to stabilizing the hit tool. A five homer week and a four homer game full of moon shots will usually do the trick. Baez’s hit tool is getting stronger despite him still avoiding walks like the plague, if you hit for as much damage as he does than you don’t want to walk I suppose. Baez has 40 extra base hits already this year in 65 games and since June 1st has a 74.5% contact rate and has dropped the K-rate to 23.5%.

2. SP Brandon White (Marlins) - AAA

ETA: Mid/Late 2026

Comp: Tylor Megill

Prime Skills: White might get mixed up by some with the much better Thomas White, but Brandon White is having a breakout year as a 26-year-old when it comes to generating whiffs. He’s always been a high end command pitcher and at 6’ 8” is imposing on the mound, but the main difference between this year and last is an increase in velocity by a tick - he was sitting around 95 last year, but has been hovering closer to 96 in 2026 and the development of his sweeper. He’s able to go deep into games, but the fact he only has three pitches and two good pitches at the age of 26, likely makes him a long-term reliever. This is Brandon White’s second time on the list and he may be battling Karson Milbrandt to see who gets called up to the majors first as he’s having an incredibly impressive year with 25.1% K-BB% and 13.9% SwStr% including a phenomenal 4.2% walk rate that did not increase at AAA with the ABS. We also now have pitch level data from him at AAA and the fastball is a beast of a pitch - he absolutely paints with it as it has a 61.9% strike rate and 33.5% CSW. This week White had an 11 K and 0 BB performance, giving up only 1 hit in 7 innings with 0 runs and should be on watch lists across leagues for a call up.

3. 2B Demetrio Crisantes (Diamondbacks) - AA

ETA: Mid 2027

Comp: Mini Xander Bogaerts

Prime Skills: Crisantes has a greater than plus grade hit tool and advanced plate approach to go along with sneaky good power and above average base running skills. He’s a thinner dude right now, but his bat can play up for sneaky power that may end up leading to 20 homer power if he can trend closer to his career max EV (117.3 max EV in complex in 2023, but only a recorded 106.5 in a small sample size in 2025) with above an above average angles profile. The 90th percentile EVs he posted 2024 were 102.5. The hit tool will get him to the bigs and if the power develops, it will make him an All Star. It’s hilarious how good he has been since returning from the IL after missing most of last year, all gas and no brakes with this kid as he’s hitting .342/.478/.644 with 4 bombs and 13 extra base hits in only 21 games. This week Crisantes hit over .500 with 6 extra base hits and 2 homers. This kid is ridiculously underrated.

4. SP Caden Scarborough (Rangers) - A+

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Joe Ryan / Shohei Ohtani pitcher mash

Prime Skills: Scarborough was absolutely nasty this season and is a big 6’5” power righty with an arsenal highlighted by a potential plus-plus fastball and slider combo where he has a high ride fastball that tops out at 100 against a diving mid 80’s sweeper that sweeps from 1.5 to 7.5 o’clock break and he runs these with a solid change up that he throws mostly against lefties to get them reaching outside of the zone. He seems to have a couple of variations of his slider/sweeper where the spin changes slightly to go from a 1/7 pitch to a 2/8 pitch. Scarborough has only made four starts so far this year after starting the season on the IL and the last two have been good as he’s building up pitch count. 9 strikeouts and 1 walk, only giving up 2 hits in 4 ⅔ is elite. If someone is down on him from the injury, you may have missed the buy window - but try hard now as this might be your last chance to buy lower than value.

5. OF Brandon Compton (Marlins) - A+

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Max Muncy mashed with Jack Suwinski

Prime Skills: Brandon Compton was the darling of the combine last year before the MLB draft showing an elite power and speed skillset after only middling stats at ASU. The Marlins gambled on him in the second round and he’s had a rough time hit-tool wise, but the tools are all there as he’s rocking a slash that includes 11 homers, 17 steals and 19 extra base hits in 55 games and a near 25% walk rate. A 57% contact rate is atrocious, but he does at least know how to get to good pull-side power angles. He doesn’t swing often, so it’s hard to tell if his plate approach is an attempt to wait for certain pitches or if he’s just overly passive - I tend to lean toward the later right now and the Ks are likely more due to swing and miss than bad approach. He’s having a tough time against fastballs over 93 mph thus far, but hit a max 116.9 EV in the combine, a record and puts up very good sprint speeds for his size. Splits-wise, he’s terrible against lefties, but he did have 5 bombs and 4 steals this week.

Top 150 Prospect Rankings Update (Memorial Day, 2026):

These prospect rankings are based on FANTASY value, not on real life value. Considering such, hitters generally weigh a bit heavier for me due to the injury risk and higher volatility of prospect pitchers. Proximity to the majors is also prominent in the equation, though these rankings are taking a longer-term / dynasty look on these guys (think of it more as a 5 year plan).

Rather than getting into writing little bios on all of these hitters, I’ve decided to keep my rankings simple by providing the 2026 stats of each player across all levels, the player’s fScores (which can be found only on MLB Data Warehouse), a player comp, a small blub on the player’s prime skills for fantasy including my tool grades / pitching arsenals and an explanation of my ranking that may include trending data.

Please note these rankings are the result of months of work from using available data via MLB Data Warehouse, the fScore algorithms developed by myself (and coded by Jon Anderson), regular in-person scouting (Florida based), writing weekly prospect performance columns and weekly performance podcasts and regular film review; I have provided my personal comps for each prospect (for fun - note: comps may be based on mechanics, body type, pitching arsenal or similar skills & box score style) and how I generally think each prospect will perform once in the majors over the next five or so seasons.

Additional in-season note: The statistical references will vary as I’m writing this article in-season over the course of a two week time period. Look at the right side of the date slider to see the dates in comparison to each other when referencing multiple players.

Top 150 Rankings:

1. SS Jesus Made (Brewers)

ETA: Early/Mid 2027

Comp: Smaller switch-hitting infield Christian Yelich profile and swing mechanics

Prime Skills: We don’t have a lot of statcast data on Made yet, but we have a recorded max EV of 110.9 this spring and a reported 90th percentile EV of 103.9 to go along with an advanced hit tool on both sides of the plate. Made is a true switch hitter with no split concerns though the power as a righty is a bit better despite a better contact rate against lefties. Made is aggressive on the basepaths and has been a much better runner in 2026. Made has 15 extra baste hits in 38 games as of this writing and has improved in contact rates while being more aggressive at the plate this year while being drastically under age-to-level.

Hit: 55/65
Plate Approach: 55/60
Power: 50/60
Speed: 65/65

Ranking Explanation: Made rates out as an above average hitter across the board and has a leaner, but more twitchy type athleticism to him. I called it last ranking’s update that I saw him a future top prospect in baseball and here he is, nearly unanimously. Made has a peak upside as a regular .280 hitter who will be able to get to 30 homer power and 30 steal speed as a switch hitter with good on base skills and limited strikeouts. He’s one of the best all-around prospects we have seen in a long time.

2. OF Edward Florentino (Pirates)

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Lefty Julio Rodriguez with potentially a better hit tool

Prime Skills: Florentino is a big, twitchy lefty with a large stride in his swing and carries a potentially plus hit tool thanks to maybe the best angles in baseball (gotta love that 36.4% air-pull rate). The power is fantastic with a ridiculous 106.3 90th EV this year as a 19-year-old and Florentino is the master of fScores with the highest grade of anyone in the minors. Florentino put up a world beating 41 extra base hits in only 83 games in 2025 and already has more homers than Made in only 100 PAs, while already putting up 11 extra base hits in 22 games in 2026.

Plate Approach: 55/60
Power: 60/70
Speed: 50/60

Ranking Explanation: The hit tool is only dampered only by the fact he could afford to be more aggressive in-zone to avoid Emmanuel Rodriguez syndrome as he climbs the ranks and he does have some trouble against lefties, for the second year in a row. Florentino has the highest fantasy upside of any prospect, including Made, hence him having the highest fScore of any prospect in baseball. The power is actually up from last season, while the hit tool and base running is looking a bit worse, but he is also coming off an ankle injury that forced him to miss the first couple weeks of the season. It should be noted Made is younger than Florentino, and is a level higher. The upside is 40 homers, 20 steals and a regular .260-.270 batting average.

3. SS Leo De Vries (Athletics)

ETA: Early/Mid 2027

Comp: Switch hitting Alfonso Soriano at SS

Prime Skills: De Vries has super high upside across the board and is a potential five-tool switch hitting talent who has continually played at a high age-to-level. De Vries is absolutely electric and has a long swing despite quick hands, giving me that Soriano feeling. His contact rates improved after some transition with the Athletics and he gets to good angles. De Vries became more aggressive at the plate with the Athletics with an increased swing rate which will help his hit tool trend to plus considering his age to the level he’s at and he has a max EV at 110, however the 90th percentile is only at 103.5 mph (above average for his age, but not spectacular). Last year De Vries was much better against righties, than lefties and while we see the hit tool is better from the left side, the power might be better from the right side. De Vries knocked a fantastic 51 extra base hits across only 118 games at a significant age-to-level disadvantage in 2025 and has only 10 in 39 games this year, but has been much better on the basepaths and showing better footspeed this season.

Ranking Explanation: De Vries does not have the same power and speed upside as Made and Florentino and in my mind is a tier behind those two, though obviously as my #3 guy he’s still fantastic. De Vries has solid foundational mechanics and great bat speed that will likely lead to better and more consistent batting averages to Florentino, but Florentino’s ability to consistently get to pull power will likely make him a better fantasy contributor - even if De Vries might be the better real life player as a natural shortstop. I expect De Vries to be a .260 - .280 batting average with 25 homer and 20 steal average peak potential.

4. SP Kade Anderson (Mariners)

ETA: Mid/Late 2026

Comp: Max Fried

Prime Skills: Anderson has an arsenal that is across the board plus, against some of the other guys in the class that were elite one or two pitches without the full arsenal to do damage, but is a leaner 6’2” lefty that gives me some Max Fried vibes despite needing work on the command. He has a fastball with up to 20” of vert on it that had the second best whiff% on it in the draft class to Liam Doyle’s fastball, a 2-plane slider, a nasty diving curve and a change up with some nice fade.

SL (84-88 mph): 55/60
CU (79-81 mph): 55/60
CH (83-85 mph): 55/60
Command: 60/65

Ranking Explanation: Last rankings update I mentioned that Anderson has to prove it some in pro ball in order to move up the rankings, and has he ever! A 37.1 K-BB% and 19.5 SwStr% are absolutely ridiculous for a dude who debuted at AA and is in one of the better pitching development organizations in baseball with one of the better stadiums to pitch in. This guy is the real deal and this is why he was my #1 FYPD player coming into the year.

5. OF Max Clark (Tigers)

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Corbin Carroll

Prime Skills: Multi-sport athlete; has a really nice hit tool, a lot of speed and should develop more power as he ages. He’s likely to develop more into a speed first, 15-20 homer type based on the small sample size of what we have seen in the minors and pre-draft, though there is room for growth based on the above average to plus exit velocities. While the hit tool is already near 70 grade from a contact standpoint, it’s subpar in regards to squaring up despite a much improved batted ball profile and angles. Clark already has 11 extra base hits this year in 39 games, while he had only 36 all of last year and he has shown improved base running and more aggressiveness on the basepaths this year - something we have all been waiting for!

Hit: 65/70
Plate Approach: 60/65
Power: 45/60
Speed: 60/70

Ranking Explanation: Clark was drafted primarily for the potential of his tools, but his hit tool and plate skills are the most impressive pieces of his profile right now. He looks like he could be one of the better players in baseball when he makes it to the big leagues - I would like to see him swing more aggressively in the zone, but funny enough the profile almost resembles Riley Greene with slightly less power, but a lot more speed. I see Clark as a .280-.290 hitter with 20-25 homer power and 30 steal upside in his peak seasons.

T-10 Prospects

1. SS Eli Willits (Nationals) - A+

ETA: 2028

Comp: Bigger Jimmy Rollins type

Prime Skills: Willits is best known at being a very well-rounded player and could be kind of a highschool JJ Wetherholt type (with less power) where he will just kind of be boringly good at every level. We basically have no EV data on Willits publicly available since 2024, so there’s no point to repeat those numbers. Willits absolutely mashes as a righty and is still very strong as a lefty. I saw him post up great ABs against guys like Liam Doyle, Tanner Franklin and Yhoiker Fajardo in the Spring Breakout, he’s the real deal having hit leadoff in that game. The hit and plate approach are top notch for his age and the ball sounds good off his bat considering his age. The 99 XBH+ is only average, but he’s still 18 and he has 27 extra base hits in 51 games now with a ton of improvement in the damage department the last few weeks. Willits had 6 extra base hits this week and 4 bombs after getting the call to high A along with 3 steals.

2. OF Hector Rodriguez (Reds) - AAA

ETA: Mid 2026

Comp: Wilyer Abreu and Michael Harris II mash (as hitters)

Prime Skills: Rodriguez has fire hydrant build as a 200 pound 5’11” player with a short, quick swing that leads to a plus hit tool though he misses a tad on his swings (lackluster, but improved barrel rates), though the flyball rate is fairly poor. Rodriguez has improved plate approach this season for the second consecutive year and has above average power (107.1 90th percentile EV and 112.7 max EV - last year). He has a potential 20/10, gap hitter profile that can really play up in Cincinnati. He’s good enough against lefties to avoid the strongside platoon risk many lefties face and managed 46 extra base hits in 135 games this season. He has 30 extra base hits in 66 games as of this writing in 2026 and netted 7 extra base hits with 4 homers this week. The steals totals are going down this year, but the hit and power combo is only improving as he’s getting to more barrels this year and is likely major league ready at this point. Watch for a call up soon.

3. SS George Lombard Jr. (Yankees) - AAA

ETA: September, 2026

Comp: Barry Larkin light

Prime Skills: Lombard has a plus plate approach with an average hit tool and solid, but not great angles, but some extreme athleticism that hasn’t had a chance to play up yet (outside of the speed) since he’s been advanced aggressively age-to-level in a Cole Young-esk way (158 wRC+). Lombard added some muscle to his 6’ 2” frame this offseason, but it hasn’t resulted in much of a power uptick as of yet. He’s a doubles guy right now (122 XBH+), but could grow into more power as he has reportedly hit the ball over 110 mph, though the highest max EV on record is 109.1. So there’s at least slightly above average power in the bat, he has 26 extra base hits in 60 games on the season and after initially struggling at AAA he had a big week with 7 extra base hits, including 2 homers and 2 steals. He just turned 21-years-old a couple weeks ago and is performing admirably at AAA. I still don’t think the Yankees call him up and take his rookie status this year, but they may call him up for a cup of coffee or help down the playoff stretch.

4. OF Charlie Condon (Rockies) - AAA

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Less athletic righty Cody Bellinger

Prime Skills: Condon started the year hot, but has since cooled off as pitchers are taking advantage of his complete inability to hit off-speed stuff. He’s been a big time fastball hunter since college with an 84% contact rate and .319/.348/.473 slash against only fastballs and while he can hit a breaker (64% contact rate), he’s absolutely atrocious against off-speed (47% contact and 40% k rate). He has a long body, but keeps his hands in so he doesn’t get exposed inside. He smashes pitches up in the zone and it will be interesting to see if he can keep the strikeout rate down. The contact he is making is with excellent doubles angles as he has a 27% line drive rate on the season and a 49% pull rate. Condon puts up some solid EVs, but he will get exposed in the majors as it’s obvious he can’t hit change ups, splitters or curves (.111/.262/.167) slash against those pitches. Condon had 5 bombs this week (his only extra base hits) and the first thing I did was look to see what pitches he was hitting with 2 of the homers coming of changeups and 1 coming off a breaker! So there is progress!

5. SP David Shields (Royals) - A+

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Robby Snelling-ish

Prime Skills: Shields has elite command and despite a lower swinging strike rate, racks up a fair amount of Ks due to his ability to locate on the edges. He’s a big athletic lefty (played high school QB) and has excellent extension. The fastball is a weapon up in the zone and Shields commands it very well, while the slider is a dirty two-plane sweeping breaker that dominates both lefties and righties as his primary finishing pitch. There’s a bit of a Robby Snelling light replica type in his build, arm-slot and arsenal without the added velocity Snelling brought in 2025. The curve is a little slurvy and hits two planes, but is the type of pitch if left in the zone can get mashed. Shields had a fantastic week with 10 strikeouts and 0 walks, but one hit allowed including 1 ER. He’s the top pitcher on the list this week after some dominant hitting performances from some name guys.

26. SS Sebastian Walcott (Rangers)

ETA: Mid 2027

Comp: Fernando Tatis Jr. - light, similar build and swing

Prime Skills: Super raw, a huge 19-year-old kid with raw power for days (115.1 EV posted this spring). He needs to further develop the hit tool and plate skills, but the tools are there and he debuted at high A as a 17-year-old. He ran an improved hit tool in the second half and hit .323 with an 82% contact rate in the final month of the season, but the power was lacking. Ultimately the raw power and power ceiling are extremely high and he will get to the homers, the concern is if there will be a trade-off in the hit tool to get there. He also walked more than he struck out over this period. Walcott only managed to hit 34 extra base hits in 124 minor league games this year, but the age-to-level factor is real here and we should give him another year to jump forward in power.

Ranking Explanation: The kid is still super raw and unfortunately Walcott is missing the entire season with a torn UCL, however there has been recent news he might make it back in August, which at least will get him a little development time. His biggest asset in his fantasy value was the fact he was so advanced age-to-level and has ridiculous natural tools, while the back of the baseball card stats had never caught up to his potential. The fact he’s missing a year dings him in my rankings a bit - hopefully we get him back at the end of the year.

27. SP Ryan Sloan (Mariners)

ETA: 2028

Comp: Chris Carpenter-ish w/ a slider instead of a curve

Prime Skills: He’s a big dude for a high school guy at 6’ 5” 220 pounds with a mid 90s fastball in the 95-97 mph range with above average ride and some arm-side run, a plus sweeper that has 1/7 curve shape, but slider velocity and dives right off the plate when it’s on, a solid split changeup and an electric hard vertical slider/cutter with plus to plus, plus command of his stuff for his age. The gyro slider and splitter play off each other very nicely, he’s a fun pitcher. Sloan has a 2.76 JA ERA (SIERA) last season and has been having a worse season this year with a 3.18 JA ERA and only a 17.8 K-BB% after a 22.5 K-BB% last season. The big difference is the increase in walk rate, as the swing and miss has been fairly stable.

Ranking Explanation: Sloan may not have some of the big strikeout numbers that other prospect pitchers ranked lower might have, but the stuff is electric from a high pedigree pitcher in an organization that really knows how to effectively develop starters, especially with this type of arsenal. Sloan is one of my favorite pitchers in the minors and unless an injury occurs, he’s a fairly safe bet to be a great #2 starter for a long time, which limits his overall prospect upside as I don’t think he has #1 type stuff.

28. OF AJ Ewing (Mets)

ETA: Debuted

Comp: Jarren Duran

Prime Skills: Ewing is centerfielder with a quick, compact swing and runs an above average to potential plus hit tool with decent enough angles to be an above average extra bases threat. Ewing has improved his exit velocities y/o/y with a new 110.5 max EV in the majors and very solid 89.2 average EV in the minors, which is enough to reach 15-20 homers in his peak seasons. Ewing ran some ridiculous contact rates this season prior to promotion, but it hasn’t translated to the majors as of yet, though I expect it will and counterbalance against the high BABIP to date.

Ranking Explanation: Ewing advanced at an insane rate up the levels this year and even in the Spring I noted he was a Top 50 prospect for me, so here he is debuted in the majors and doing very well. Ewing is a speed first prospect, a little bit different than the other prospects higher up in the rankings and should be in his peak a .270-.290 hitter with 15 homers and 40 steal speed.

29. 2B/SS/3B Devin Fitz-Gerald (Nationals)

ETA: Mid/Late 2027

Comp: Kevin McGonigle LIGHT

Prime Skills: Fitz-Gerald is a dude I liked back when he was with the Rangers as the trade that keeps on giving continues to produce for the Nationals (MacKenzie Gore trade) as a 2024 fifth round draft pick out of my hood in South Florida. Fitz-Gerald continues to play second, third and shortstop giving him a useful amount of utility value while also rocking a plus hit tool, plus bat speed and increased pop from last season. Fitz-Gerald doesn’t get to the highest raw powers with a 109 max EV, but he does have an 89.5 average EV and his ability to get the barrel on the ball consistently will lead to above average power production for his size and raw power.

Ranking Explanation: From the left side Fitz-Gerald looks like Kevin McGonigle, but from the right side it’s pretty rough. He was better last year as a righty against lefties, so he’s not a total zero to Cedric Mullins as a switch hitter, however he’s downtrending from that side in the 2026 small sample size ABs. Through the last two years he has a much better looking .256/.404/.436 slash from that side of the plate. Fitz-Gerald’s new found power gives him a future peak line something like .280-.300 with low 20s homers and 15-20 steals. Ewing has a speed and proximity edge, which pushes him ahead in the rankings.

30. 1B/OF Ralphy Velazquez (Guardians)

ETA: Mid/Late 2026

Comp: Lefty Only Victor Martinez

Prime Skills: Great hit tool with power, plate skills and some speed - he had some bad luck in 2024 and performed extremely poorly in high A, but has had a major rebound in 2025 getting a promotion to AA where he finished the season on an absolute tear. His second half slash between both levels was .325/.406/.581 with 10 bombs. Ralphy knocked a pretty ridiculous 59 extra base hits in 122 games in 2025 and now we have statcast data on him. The Z-Contact is insanely good in the small AAA sample size and he doesn’t even chase very much, if he can limit the chase even more, he could have a plus hit tool. The line drive rates at every level have been fantastic, near 30% and even though at the time of the article we only have 13 BIP for statcast, the EVs are looking solid with an average 92.2 and 90th of 105 so far.

Ranking Explanation: Velazquez has moved off catcher permanently, which is probably for the better to get his bat into the lineup regularly. He now has 21 extra base hits in 40 games this year giving him an incredible 80 extra base hits over his last 162 games (a full major league season). Velazquez projects out as a doubles machine and has been playing more 1B than OF and could easily replace the struggling Kyle Manzardo by mid-season. I would put a peak project on him as a .270-.290 hitter with 25 homer power and no steals, but tons of doubles and RBI. If he can stick at 1B defensively or in the outfield, rather than getting pigeon holed at DH, he is one of the better top end prospect values available right now.

51. OF Lazaro Montes (Mariners)

ETA: Early 2027

Comp: Oneil Cruz without the speed

Prime Skills: Big strong kid with fantastic power from the left side and a solid eye. The power has been insane with a new 118 max EV this year and a 108.3 90th percentile EV. Last season, despite some bad contact rates, he smashed 58 extra base hits in 131 games and this year he has 18 extra base hits in 43 games. There has been no improvement in the contact department, however he has improved his power angles for more line drives and more pull power. He has unreal power, but he has to hit enough to be effective at the major league level.

Ranking Explanation: Montes is a high risk power profile who has 40 homer potential in the majors at his peak, but he also might only hit .220-.240 ala Eugenio Suarez because he doesn’t have the speed of an Oneil Cruz to back up the poor contact rates. He does at least know how to take a walk, despite the high K rates and a lefty Eugenio Suarez or Max Muncy in the OF might be another good comparison statistically to predict his future outcomes. He has too long of a swing for the Baby Yordan comparison people like to give him, but keep in mind he is still very young for the level and might be able to close the gap on plate approach or K rate as he matures. Montes and George are almost polar opposite players, but George’s hit and speed combo make him a safer bet to make it at the major league level.

52. OF Zyhir Hope (Dodgers)

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Lean Josh Naylor

Prime Skills: Shorter dude with quick hands and a high impact lefty swing with some major pull power. Hope started the season hot in 2025, but finished with a cool .220/.345/.339 slash in the second half. The contact rate is up from the end of last year, but the walks are down and reportedly has hit (when recorded) to a 90th percentile EV of 109.3 (keeping in mind we don’t have public EV data for him) with a 113.9 max EV in 2025, but he did hit a 470 foot bomb in the Arizona Fall League and he gets good angles with a more than 25% line drive rate, though he has pulled the ball less last year which has hurt him a bit in the HR/FB totals. Hope knocked 45 extra base hits in 127 games in 2025 and has 15 extra base hits in 43 games in 2026.

Ranking Explanation: Hope’s hit tool has regressed and the strikeouts are up, but the raw power is now translating to game power at the same time. Hope might not have the superstar ceiling some people thought a year ago and might be more like Teoscar Hernandez as a solid #5 bat in a lineup who can drive in runs and hit for a .250-.270 average with mid-to-high 20s homer potential and 10-15 steals in peak seasons. Hope is much safer than Montes as a bat, however Montes will potentially hit for an extra 10 homers per year in his peak seasons and he’s much less blocked than Hope in the crowded Dodgers OF prospect situation.

53. SP Jonah Tong (Mets)

ETA: Debuted

Comp: Tim Lincecum

Prime Skills: Tong has some tricky IVB on a sinking mid to high 90s fastball, a big curve that drops right in on hitters from a high over the top arm slot from a smaller 6’ 1”, 180 pound frame. He also pairs these with a decent back pocket change up and a hard vertical slider to bridge between the fastball and curve. Tong had an absolutely ridiculous 2025 and I wasn’t really sure how he was doing it besides deception, but now in 2026 we see him coming back to Earth. The fastball grades well based on ride and the changeup is a vulcan grip change up that is pretty nasty as his second best pitch. The issue with Tong has always been his lack of providing horizontal movement in the zone. All his stuff plays north and south and that works in the minors, but not the majors, hence the development of a more slurvy curveball and a new cutter. The new slurve / curve has not been very effective in the minors at getting whiffs, but has been a good groundball generator, while the gyro slider / hard cutter has been a good pitch that he needs to get better locations on.

Ranking Explanation: His success largely depends on having at least average command of his pitches - which the command issues may be a thing of the past at this point and the biggest concern now is how his shoulder will hold up based on a slight frame and a super over the top arm slot that could lead to injury. He’s back in the majors as of this writing and we haven’t seen enough sample size of the new arsenal to truly judge it, but it’s still a work in progress and I think at best he’s likely to be a mid rotation starter who will have some really hot runs and some really cold runs throughout his career.

54. 2B / SS / OF Jett Williams (Brewers)

ETA: Early 2026

Comp: Jose Altuve build, Bryson Stott-like production

Prime Skills: Plate skills and speed, the contact tool is still developing, but should ultimately be a good tool for Williams, as he has gotten the hit tool close to his pre-injury 2023 levels with an 80.8% contact rate. He has non-zero power and because he has a quick swing can get to a surprising number of extra base hits. He has a max 109 EV over the last couple of seasons, but will likely live in the 15 homer range with a below average 90th EV and can steal 30-40 bags. Jett had a phenomenal 58 extra base hits in 130 games in 2025. He has 15 extra base hits in 49 games this season as his hit total has been lower than previous years due to less quality angles than normal.

Ranking Explanation: Jett is an interesting player who should have some position flexibility and has a bit of a mighty mouse in him despite the smaller stature. Williams has a track record of destroying lefty pitchers, while only having moderate success against righties. He has a good hit tool and plate approach and will make for a better points leagues player than standard leagues, but should put up 13-17 homer power and 30 steal speed in his peak seasons with a .250-.280 batting average depending on how his BABIP luck is tracking. I’ll take the higher power profiles over the well-rounded on-base and steals guys more times than not, hence Montes and Hope getting the nod over Jett as we have seen his EVs stagnate.

55. SS/3B Emil Morales (Dodgers)

ETA: 2028

Comp: Fernando Tatis Jr. light

Prime Skills: Big, athletic shortstop with high end power potential and decent speed. He has the Fernando Tatis Jr. swing which has led to a similar batted ball profile (though beware of the high swinging strike rate as an average hit tool is likely the best case outcome with high 60s-low 70s contact rates). Morales has reportedly (per Baseball America) popped a 105.9 90th percentile EV this season (3 mph over last year) which is incredibly high at his age and when you combine his projected growth as a big 6’ 3” kid with the optimal angles he gets (29.2% line drive rate at A ball last year and 26% this year), there is a lot of power upside here (144 XBH+) even with the lackluster hit tool with 25 extra base hits in 40 games this year.

Ranking Explanation: There’s a lot of potential here with Morales and skills-wise he has a higher upside than even some of the other players ahead of him, but due to lack of proximity and being in the Dodgers organization where it’s easy to get buried - this pushes him down a bit in my rankings. What helps him is the fact he will likely land at 3B, a position that is lacking a lot of prospect talent and the increased exit velocities with consistent power angles. As long as the hit tool and plate approach rate to 40s as he climbs up the levels, he will make the majors and could be a .230-.260 hitter with 30 homer power and he can throw in 8-12 steals a season.

76. OF Ethan Conrad (Cubs)

2025 College: .372/.495/.744 | 18.6 BB% / 14.4 K% | 15 XBH, 7 HR, 4 SB (21 games)

ETA: Mid 2027

Comp: Lefty Wyatt Langford w/ less power

Prime Skills: Conrad only played in 21 games this year for Wake Forest due to a shoulder injury, but the big 6’3, 220 lb lefty has a three year track record of top flight production at a great baseball school including scorching a .385/.433/.486 slash in the Cape Cod league in 2024, showing he can hit with wood as well as metal. We don’t have wood bat exit velocities for him, but based on his 113.9 metal bat max EV and 92-94 average EVs in college, we can assume he would likely have a 106-110 max EV and 87-91 mph average EV. Conrad notched an elite 92% Z-Contact rate in 2025 in college..

Ranking Explanation: Conrad has not yet debuted in pro ball, so we only have college data, college video and some Cape Cod info to go off of, which is not a fair comparison to the other players within these rankings. Conrad has an above average to plus hit tool and is a smooth athlete who will play a solid outfield and is at least an above average player across all tool sets. He could be the Carson Benge type of 2026 who just zooms up levels with an advanced approach throughout all facets of the game. Mechanically, he reminds me of Wyatt Langford, but just hits from the other side of the plate. I thought for sure he would have played by now, still recovering from a 2025 shoulder surgery as it was expected he was to debut by May, but here we are - one year after surgery and still not playing. The talent is there, which is why he still moved up the rankings thanks to promotions even though he has not played yet.

77. SP Jaxon Wiggins (Cubs)

Comp: Max Scherzer-ish

Prime Skills: Wiggins has a big flat fastball with a decent amount of arm-side run that lives in the high 90s, but tops out at 100 with a leaning plus late break gyro slider from a huge 6’6” frame, but some rough control (59% ball rate in AAA) and a plus change up. He throws from a pretty simple ¾ delivery from the right side and the big upgrade in my ranking is due to the fact we now have pitch level data that is incredibly impressive - impressive enough to defeat my anti-Cubs bias that certainly exists.

Ranking Explanation: Wiggins is kind of a two pitch guy right now relying on the split in movement from the flat fastball to the late break slider for the majority of his strikeouts and the changeup is good enough that he has a solid enough 3-pitch mix, but the issue he has is the lack of command start-to-start, as he will go one or two starts with a 55-60% strike rate and then drop down to a 35-45% strike rate right after. Wiggins inconsistent command and worse secondaries pushed him down my rankings when healthy, but he has missed almost all of the 2026 season after being placed on the IL with elbow inflammation. He is still not “game ready” as of this writing per the Cubs staff, which is unfortunate as I thought there was a good chance he would be debuting soon at the beginning of the year. Wiggins has top of the rotation upside if he can keep the command in check and regain health.

78. SP Jamie Arnold (Athletics)

ETA: Early/Mid 2027

Comp: Mini Chris Sale

Prime Skills: Arnold is an athletic lefty with a slighter build and throws from a unique arm angle that made him one of the top pitching prospects coming into the season and leaving the season, as he has a well-rounded fastball, slider, double change up combo and above average command, especially for the arm-slot. The cutter is a gyro slider, more than a cut fastball, whereas he does throw a sinker for groundball outs against righties. Arnold throws both a kick change and a split change in order to get both a downer arm-side movement profile vs. the glove-side fade of the kick change.

Ranking Explanation: I would ignore some of the back of the baseball card numbers from Arnold so far that are affecting his fScores a bit, as he has had atrocious BABIP luck, however he has had sub par command for a dude who was supposed to be polished in that department out of college. He should climb pretty quickly and could even debut by the end of 2026 thanks to his polish, but I see 2027 as more likely until he works out the command kinks and figures out how to avoid righties crushing him the way they are now.

Rodriguez has improved plate approach this season for the second consecutive year and has above average power (107.1 90th percentile EV and 112.7 max EV - last year). He has a potential 20/10, gap hitter profile that can really play up in Cincinnati. He’s good enough against lefties to avoid the strongside platoon risk many lefties face and managed 46 extra base hits in 135 games this season. He has 20 extra base hits in 51 games as of this writing in 2026, including coming off a 3 homer game as I’m writing this to bring his total to 10.

Ranking Explanation: The biggest issue Rodriguez faces is an ability to get to quality angles that could help the raw power in the exit velocities play up to a 60 grade power. Rodriguez profiles as a solid starter, but the upside is limited as he currently profiles to be a .260-.280 hitter with 20-ish homer power and 10 steal speed.

80. OF Henry Bolte (Athletics)

Comp: Lane Thomas & Righty Charlie Blackmon mash

Hitter Tool Grades:

Ranking Explanation: Bolte got the call and some run way earlier than I expected and the power and speed are so enticing it makes him a fun upside gamble this late in the rankings. I said last write up, “ If he can develop even a below average hit tool by improving contact and angles and limit the strikeouts, he could be a fantasy unicorn - but I don’t find it likely, we are probably looking at Esteury Ruiz 2.0 and it may be lucky he hits the ball on the ground so much, because hitting the ball in the air was the undoing of Ruiz.” Bolte did fix the contact issues to a below average hit tool, but the angles are still terrible for power and a dude with these kind of exit velocities who can’t get the ball off the ground is a shame. I think he’s a peak .250-.270 hitter who can snag 40 bags a year and the raw power could be as a 20-25 homer guy, but more than likely he’s around 8-14 homers unless he can get the ball in the air.

101. SS/3B Ronny Cruz (Nationals)

ETA: 2029

Comp: Raw Cooper Pratt (yes a prospect)

Prime Skills: Cruz is a big SS who has shown some killer tools logging a 110 max EV this spring as a 19-year-old and plus . The hit tool needs work and will be his make or break ultimately, but the eye is looking more advanced this year and there could be a breakout occurring before us - even though he has slowed down significantly at high A. His big stride will lead mostly to pull power unless he refines his swing more and like Hammond there’s a weird reverse split going on against lefties. He’s good at getting to pull, but needs to work at getting the ball in the air.

Ranking Explanation: The swing and miss is atrocious and the eye took a major hit when advancing to high A. He’s swinging too much with an absolutely ridiculous swing rate and as he progresses up levels, the tools can not carry him. I still think he’s interesting due to the power and speed combo and the fact he’s still under 20 at high A, an advanced level for that age. As a prospector we should not simply say “he’s great!” when he blows up low A (appropriate age to level) and then completely disregard him when he gets challenged.

102. OF Ryan Wideman (Padres)

ETA: 2028

Comp: Righty Evan Carter w/ more speed, worse approach

Prime Skills: Wideman is a dude I had a ton of interest in post-draft as a third rounder who played one year of division one ball for Western Kentucky and completely balled out; hitting .398/.466/.652 with 10 bombs and 45 steals from a 6’4, 205 pound frame. The hit was off last year in his small sample debut, but he did have 11 steals in 26 games. He also has some insane raw power we haven’t seen demonstrated yet with over 110 mph exit velocities with a wood bat at the combine and hitting to 92nd percentile EVs in college with metal bats last year. The contact rates are good thus far and he doesn’t miss too often even with an aggressive plate approach. He has 22 extra base hits and an insane 35 steals in 47 games.

Plate Approach: 35/45
Power: 40/55
Speed: 70/70

Ranking Explanation: Wideman is 22-years-old and should be at a higher level than low A as a college guy who is dominating the level. This is the same organization that pushed Ethan Salas aggressively, so it’s a little strange to see Wideman stuck at Low A. Even with the ability to get to extra base hits at a high clip, the angles are not great and that limits his hit tool even with good contact. Wideman looks like he could be an impact major leaguer and has some fun tools, but he needs a bigger challenge before I make predictions on peak profile. Cruz and Celestin get the edge to Wideman, because they are both younger and playing at a higher level.

103. 2B/3B Aroon Escobar (Phillies)

ETA: 2027

Comp: Jean Segura

Prime Skills: Escobar has a fire hydrant build at 5’ 10” and 180 pounds and with simple swing mechanics and a naturally laid back load that leads to an above average to plus hit tool with a solid plate approach and emerging power to pair with above average speed. I admittedly wasn’t the biggest fan of the profile this offseason due to the lack of extra base hits, but the power has appeared this year with a 104.7 90th percentile EV and exceptional 25.1% line drive rate which has brought about the extra base hits in 2025, including a great 110.8 max EV for a 20-year-old middle infielder, but needs to turn the raw power into game power with only 32 extra base hits in 120 games in 2025 and only 12 extra base hits in 47 games in 2026.

Plate Approach: 45/50
Power: 40/55
Speed: 55/50

Ranking Explanation: Escobar is a solid to above average player who profiles as a good second baseman, who could jump to plus hit and power tools as he develops further that would boost him to more of a Ketel Marte light type of ability, because the EVs are great for his age. Escobar is kind of a Jack-of-all-Trades, but he fails to get to good angles for generating extra base hits and power, which diminish the upside of his hit tool to merely above average. He does everything good, but nothing great - which can be good enough for a fantasy second baseman, but not third base.

104. SP Daniel Eagen (Diamondbacks)

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Ryan Pepiot

Prime Skills: Eagen was one of the most consistent performers in the minors last year as a flier of a third rounder in 2024 and has the now popular super over the top arm-slot of Yesavage, Tong, Gibson and a bunch of the other breakout guys this year. Eagen has a nice four pitch mix with an underrated mid 90s fastball with a ton of ride and some arm-side movement, a potential plus sweeping slider and a plus diving 12/6 curve. Eagen has been better this year than the back of the baseball card numbers would lead on and since May 5th, he has had a 40% K rate and 1.64 JA ERA after a semi-rough April.

Arsenal Grades:

FA (93-96 mph): 60/65
ST (84-87 mph): 50/60
CU (78-82 mph): 60/65
CH (85-87 mph), split-change: 30/40
Command: 45/50

Ranking Explanation: Eagen dipped a bit in the ranks after a rough start the season, but he has was working this off-season on refining the command on his split change. Eagen is back on track now, but has been surpassed by a couple stronger pitching performances and a lot of breakout hitters. I see Eagen as having #2 starter potential, but more likely he sets in as a good #3 guy.

105. SS Elian Pena (Mets)

ETA: 2029

Comp: Max Muncy mechanics, Jose Ramirez like build

Prime Skills: Pena has an elite ability to create air-pull for his age and has a very simple and quiet swing from the left side. He’s a built dude as a 5’ 10” shortstop who has the potential for a plus hit tool with slightly below average contactability, but plus quality contact. He’s gotten up to a 109.1 max EV, but the 90th and average EVs are underwhelming thus far. I caught a live look and while the swing and the plate approach looked good, I didn’t see much damage or an opportunity for him to run on the basepaths. I’ll likely see him a couple more times this year. The hit and the plate approach are well advanced for his age and he’s running a fair amount on the basepaths even with only moderate success. The angles are only OK, nothing special and he needs to get to more barrels, a 3.8% rate doesn’t do it and have only led to 12 extra base hits in 43 games.

Ranking Explanation: Pena looks more like a second or third baseman more than a shortstop longer-term, but that’s not as important for fantasy this far out. Pena was the best hitter in the DSL last season and the hit and plate skills have translated nicely to low A. He’s going to be 18-years-old all season and will grow into more power over time based on his raw ability.

126. OF Spencer Jones (Yankees)

ETA: Debuted

Comp: Joey Gallo w/ more speed

Prime Skills: He’s huge at 6’ 6” and has ridiculous power potential with decent speed to boot. He has a ton of sneaky speed to go along with the huge power potential, but the swing has some massive holes in it and has gotten progressively worse (73.2% contact rate in 2023, 61.6% in 2024 and 59.6% in 2025). The contact part of the hit tool is bad, but the quality of contact is very good and is what drives his fScore hit ranking to a 99. Jones notched 59 extra base hits through 116 games in 2025 and 20 in 38 games in 2026, so there’s bound to be some electric production, even if volatile. The 150 XBH+ is literally maxed out with Jones - buy at your own risk, but there is stuff to like here if he can hit enough. His plate approach is actually not even that bad, he doesn’t overly chase, he just overly misses. The exit velocities are a stuff of legends.

Ranking Explanation: Kind of like Charlie Condon, it’s the off-speed, not the breakers that destroy Spencer Jones. He actually hits sliders and sweepers better than fastballs. Against curves, change ups and splitters this year he is hitting .122/.217/.244 with a 48% contact rate. He’s a huge gamble and there’s probably a 25% chance of him paying off, but he’s worth gambling on in some leagues just in case he hits. He has the highest range of outcomes of anyone on this entire ranking.

127. 1B/OF James Tibbs III (Dodgers - AAA)

ETA: Mid/Late 2026

Comp: Mike Yastrzemski

Prime Skills / Player Notes: Tibbs has shown ridiculous power this year by accessing great power angles and increasing his exit velocities across the board. Tibbs has become a barrel and sweet spot master that kind of reminds me a bit of a better Colby Thomas angles ability, but the contactability is still a little iffy and unlike my comp of Mike Yastrzemski he can hit lefties nearly as well as righties, so the platoon risk isn’t there.

Hit: 40/45
Plate Approach: 50/55
Power: 60/60
Speed: 45/45

Ranking Explanation: There might be more than a 50% chance Tibbs is traded again prior to playing for the Dodgers. He’s already been traded from the Giants and Red Sox and we have to keep in mind this power burst is happening in the PCL. The Dodgers have a ridiculous number of prospect OFs and many are better than Tibbs, though at lower levels (De Paula, Sirota, Quintero, Hope) and there’s also Davalan, George and more. Tibbs has been playing some first, which might be his best bet to the bigs, but Freddie Freeman is signed through 2027, so he would be waiting another year and a half at least. I think he’s more of a fourth OF in this org, but in another organization with full playing time his peak might be .230-.250 with 23-28 homers and a decent walk rate, but also a hefty-ish K rate. The floor on Tibbs is higher than Spencer Jones, but the ceiling is so much higher that Jones gets the nod for the dart throw.

128. 2B/SS Seaver King (Nationals)

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Whit Merrifield

Prime Skills: King has a wide open stance that generates more power from his smaller frame than you would expect that will likely translate more for doubles than homers in the majors. He is aggressive in the zone and should run high averages. He definitely looked more built this spring and the exit velocities in his AAA small sample size show this with a very nice 108 90th EV so far. He was rough on the bases in AA this year after stealing 40 bags and only caught 5 times in 2024 and 2025. For a guy with a low K rate, he chases a bit too much, but his plate approach is still likely average or better. The contactability is solid, but he hits the ball on the ground too much and the best case scenario is a high line drive, doubles profile like in AA earlier this year, because he has an interesting opposite field approach that will result in lower homers totals. King has 23 extra base hits in 44 games this year.

Speed: 65/70

Ranking Explanation: King is above average across the board in the hit tool, plate skills and power department with double plus speed. King needs to work on increasing liners and getting the ball off the ground to optimize his portfolio as a double, speed first hitter. He has a decent amount of upside as the batting average should be better considering he has a plus hit tool. Peak King looks like a .260-.280 hitter with 10-15 homers and 25-30 steals.

2. SP Karson Milbrandt (Marlins) - AA

ETA: Early/Mid 2027

Comp: Dylan Cease

Prime Skills: Milbrandt is a righty out of the third round for the Marlins in 2022 who has struggled with command since being drafted, but does tend to put up some nice outings when it all comes together. He has kind of an odd whippy ¾ delivery and needs to work on mechanics as his seems to change arm slot based on the pitch he’s throwing and I’m sure this has led to inconsistencies in command and tipping issues, but when he’s on the stuff is good. The fastball has some arm-side run to it and against the gyro slider is a big time swing and miss weapon. Milbrandt had a beast of a week with 11 strikeouts, 0 walks and only 3 hits allowed with 0 runs this week. The breakout of Milbrandt this year has been due to the development of his kick change up, which was rarely used before and has become a beast this season out of nowhere. He’s a lock into my Top 150 for the next rankings update and barely missed last time, he may end up closer to the Top 100.

3. SP Kash Mayfield (Padres) - A+

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Christopher Sanchez with an arm-side fastball

Prime Skills: Mayfield had an excellent season as the big lefty demonstrated improved command from the middle of the season on, including rising pitch counts and a ridiculous 2.37 JA ERA on the year. He’s a big dude throwing from a tricky lower ¾ arm-slot that causes the fastball to have a good amount of natural arm-side run that trips up righties against the 2-plane slider (which is a bit slurvy and I would almost label a sweeper if it had more velocity), while the change up helps him freeze up the lefties as it has a decent amount of vertical drop to it and has some air bender qualities. Mayfield would benefit if he could develop a better bridge pitch on the fastball like a gyro slider. Kash had 8 strikeouts, 0 walks and only gave up 1 hit this week. He’s off to a crazy good start this year with a 19.9% SwStr% and he has not given up a run in 3 starts (12 innings). Mayfield is having a fantastic season and appears to be up a tick sitting on the fastball, while the slider is developing into a potential plus pitch. Ideally he will develop a fourth or fifth pitch before reaching the majors. This is his first time on the T-10 this year and second within the T-15 after a 9 strikeout, 0 walk and 1 hit performance.

4. 1B/3B Yohandy Morales (Nationals) - AAA

ETA: Mid 2026

Comp: CJ Cron

Prime Skills: Morales profiles as a bench, power option as a hitter with above average to plus power, but a below average hit tool. He was a second rounder in 2023 out of Miami and received a pretty big bonus, so he will get a shot in the majors at some point here and is not really blocked with Curtis Mead, Brady House and Nassim Nunez blocking him. He’s showing improved contact this year from 60s to the low 70s and tends to hit the ball on the ground too much for a power hitter, but there are some plus exit velocities (108.1 90th and 113.1 max EV) in this bat and pedigree, so he should get a shot this year to see if he can be part of the next good Nationals team. He had a great week with 8 extra base hits, 3 homers and a .609 batting average.

5. C/1B Jason Schiavone (Astros) - A+

ETA: 2028

Comp: Hunter Goodman light

Prime Skills: Schiavone was an 11th rounder out of James Madison and is a complete under the radar breakout prospect this season after hitting under the Mendoza line in 2025. He is currently leading all of the minors leagues in home runs with 17 in 34 games. The hit tool is atrocious still, as should be expected with any Astros prospect and his home run pace is completely unsustainable, but this dude deserves his moment in the sun and had 8 extra base hits and 3 bombs this week with a .478 batting average. I would love to see the exit velocity data on this guy, but he’s barreling at a crazy rate and we should watch it in case he can become the next Hunter Goodman…. Oh, he also has 9 steals this year!

Good day friends, welcome to my weekly prospect report, now only found with an MLB Data Warehouse subscription! The goal of this column is to give you the most fantasy-relevant prospect information throughout the last week, all in one place. The format of this weekly prospect report will be a run-through of my top 15-20 prospects of the week, with a goal to get at least three prospects at each level (DSL - AAA).

I will try my best to highlight new prospects every week, rather than repeat names, unless the repeat is so warranted I just can’t help myself.

T-10 Prospects

1 | SP Aidan Cremarosa (Rays) - A

ETA: 2028

Comp: Zack Greinke

Prime Skills: Aidan Cremarosa is a very interesting pitcher picked out of Fresno State in the eighth round in 2025 who pitches with deception, command and a five pitch - kitchen sink like approach that is unlikely to generate a ton of strikeouts, but he does have back-end rotation upside. He’s a smart pitcher that uses the fastball as a setup pitch and his breakers for swing and miss at the edge of the zone. While the fastball lacks velocity, it does have ride to it that plays up high in the zone and gets hitters to swing under it more often than not. Cremarosa has good extension for his height that helps provide additional deception from a ¾ arm-slot. The cutter tunnels well with the fastball and he paints with both pitches, while the curve ball has a crazy ephus feel with a super slow, loopy movement you don’t see often. The sweeper has good horizontal break, sweeping across the zone much differently and quicker than the curve, which leads to a many of his strikeouts. Cremarosa pitched a no-hitter on Friday night and has 49 strikeouts to 5 walks in 34 innings this year. I watched the full replay and his ability to get to all parts of the zone with all different shapes and speeds of pitches is incredibly impressive.

2 | OF Henry Bolte (Athletics) - AAA

Prime Skills: Bolte put up a decent steals total and some solid power numbers last year, but a high BABIP and high K rate made him look like a small ball version of Nolan Jones. Bolte has a bad hit tool and strikes out way too much, but he can take a walk and due to his speed is really good at nabbing extra bases when he does make contact with a 150 XBH+. His high batting averages are all based on his speed and BABIP luck, rather than his hit tool or approach ala Billy Hamilton. The interesting thing is he hits the ball hard and can run into barrels despite terrible angles and bad contact. Bolte barely stuck into my Top 150 in the pre-season; mostly because of the tools and though it was all against righties, Bolte managed 9 extra base hits, 5 homers and 4 steals this week for the best offensive week anyone in the MILB has put up all season (too bad for him we had a no hitter this week too). Bolte has a 74% contact rate on the season and 81.9% Z-Contact on the year vs. a 68% contact rate last season. The hit tool is on the rise - and so will Bolte in my next rankings update. He has 12 homers and 16 steals on the season already, though he still hits the ball on the ground way too much.

3 | 2B/SS Edwin Arroyo (Reds) - AAA

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Ozzie Albies

Prime Skills: Arroyo was a top 150 guy for me all the way back in 2022 when he was still with the Mariners up until 2024 where he was still hanging on in the pre-season before an injury kept him out for the entire 2024 season. Last year was a bit of a struggle for Arroyo as he was returning from injury, but this year he is re-breaking out and is still only 22-years-old! He had 8 extras base hits with 4 homers and a .581 average over the last week and now has 7 bombs and 5 steals on the season after only hitting 3 homers all of last season, while rocking an 81.1% contact rate and 90.9% Z-Contact% on the season with only a 15% K rate. He’s an aggressive swinger, like Albies, but I think that will play for high batting averages earlier in his career and the average EVs are higher than what you would expect based on the 90th and Max EV numbers, so he holds a higher hard hit rate than you might think leading to possibly unexpected homer totals, especially in Great American. The ability to hit liners and get to the sweet spot this season is extremely impressive.

The goal of this column is to give you the most fantasy-relevant prospect information throughout the last week, all in one place. The format of this weekly prospect report will be a run-through of my top 15-20 prospects of the week, with a goal to get at least three prospects at each level (DSL - AAA).

I will try my best to highlight new prospects every week, rather than repeat names, unless the repeat is so warranted that I just can’t help myself.

T-10 Prospects

1. 2B/SS John Peck (Tigers) - AA

ETA: 2027

Comp: Zack Gelof

Prime Skills: Peck has shown a solid power and speed combo for a probable second baseman, but has strikeout problems and a below average contact tool. He’s shown the ability to get to optimal line drive angles though and the seventh rounder had a fantastic week with 8 extra base hits, 4 homers and 3 steals. It’s hard to top that week, but overall a 2% walk rate and 31% K rate is incredibly dangerous. He’s incredibly aggressive and runs high BABIPs due to the ability to get to consistent line drives and has reached up to 110 mph exit velocities with plus defense. He profiles as a utility player long-term but could go on some nice runs thanks to his ability to get to doubles.

2. OF Lazaro Montes (Mariners) - AA

ETA: Early 2027

Comp: Shades of an OF Matt Olson

Prime Skills: Big strong kid with fantastic power from the left side and a solid eye. The power is up this year from last year, but he is also striking out quite a bit more as the hit tool seems to be getting worse from a contact standpoint (62.9%), while the angles are slightly above average (15% barrel rate in 2024). He hits the ball very hard with a reported 116 max EV and a 106.3 90th percentile EV this season and smashed 58 extra base hits in 131 games. Montes had a ridiculous week capped by a 3 homer game where he smashed one 118 mph, netting him 6 extra base hits and 5 bombs on the week.

3. OF Joseph Sullivan (Astros) - AA

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Trent Grisham mashed with a more twitchy PCA mechanics and speed

Prime Skills: Sullivan is a seventh rounder out of South Alabama from 2024 with a lot of good stuff under the hood as some of the stats here look pretty extreme. Sullivan finished with an incredibly rough second half slashing .191/.357/.264 after a fabulous first half, but overall he’s basically the Astros version of Emmanuel Rodriguez with a big time three true outcomes approach with plus speed. He hits the ball hard with a 112.2 max EV at the 2024 draft combine and a reported 108 90th percentile EV in 2025. The contact rates are only below average, but the angles are also below average and he doesn’t swing enough. Sullivan was a faller in the fScores despite putting up some pretty sexy back of the baseball card stats early in the season, meaning his under the hood metrics and his production are just beginning to align. Sullivan had a fantastic week with 5 extra base hits, 3 bombs and 2 steals - doing a bit of everything.

T-10 Prospects

1 | OF Braylon Payne (Brewers) - A+

ETA: 2028

Comp: Lawrence Butler

Prime Skills: Payne is a big bodied outfielder who is tooled up with a killer power and speed combo from the left side. He’s one of the faster guys picked in the 2024 draft and if he can develop the hit tools and classic Brewers plate skills, the tools can really play this kid up with some of the better Brewers prospects. Payne’s hit tool has regressed both contact and angles-wise from last year’s small sample size, but the plate skills are potentially above average to plus. Payne had a 110.2 max EV last season at 18-years-old and could grow into plus power if he improves his angles. He’s electric, speed-wise but could work on his base running ability. Payne was terrible in the second half last year, but has seemingly gotten over it with a stellar start to the season hitting 3 bombs with 4 extra base hits and two steals this week. The plate approach is looking much better early this season, however the contact rates are still off. I bumped his plate approach and power ratings from 40 to 45 based on the early season success.

2 | OF Ryan Wideman (Padres) - A

ETA: 2028

Comp: Righty Evan Carter w/ more speed, worse approach

Prime Skills: Wideman is a dude I had a ton of interest in post-draft as a third rounder who played one year of division one ball for Western Kentucky and completely balled out; hitting .398/.466/.652 with 10 bombs and 45 steals from a 6’4, 205 pound frame. The hit was off last year in his small sample debut, but he did have 11 steals in 26 games. He also has some insane raw power we haven’t seen demonstrated yet with over 110 mph exit velocities with a wood bat at the combine and hitting to 92nd percentile EVs in college with metal bats last year. The 80% contact rates early season along with a solid plate approach led to a week where he hit 8 extra base hits, 2 bombs and had 6 steals and a .458 batting average.

3 | SP Anthony Eyanson (Red Sox) - A+

ETA: 2028

Comp: Max Meyer

Prime Skills: Eyanson did get paid nicely for a third rounder out of LSU getting drafted for his elite command and wide pitching arsenal and then broke out this Spring with a huge velocity increase from sitting 93 in college to 95-98. He’s been dealing all year and should be bumped to AA at this point as he has 27 strikeouts and 0 walks in 16 2/3 innings this year. He will be a huge mover in my rankings update. This weekend he was pulled from a perfect game he was throwing with through 4 ⅔ with 9 strikeouts. I can’t wait to get pitch movement data from him, but the fastball went from a below average to average pitch to above average hitting over 16” of induced vertical break at plus velocity and the gyro slider is a sick bridge between the fastball and curve that gets the majority of his swing and miss. The curve is a 12/6, like the slider, so there is a little too much up and down vertical plane here and the development of a sweeper or traditional cutter could help him against righties and while he has been working on a splitter it hasn’t been used much in game action to this point. Once he moves up levels the development of a fourth and fifth pitch will be critical to avoid the Jonah Tong vertical plane trap.

T-10 Prospects

1 | SP Miguel Sime Jr. (Nationals) - A

ETA: 2028

Comp: Jacob Misiorowski-ish arsenal coming from a righty CC Sabathia delivery

Prime Skills: I can’t believe Sime lasted until the fourth round in the draft last year; my first look at him in person in the Spring Breakout game was enough to get me on board. Sime is built like a brick house at 6’4, 235 pounds The dude has a ridiculous fastball hitting up to 102 mph and blew away Tai Peete and JJ Wetherholt on the fastball in the breakout game. He has a nice 11-5 curveball that was his primary strikeout pitch this week when he racked up 9 strikeouts with only 1 walk in 4 no-hit innings. He almost reminds me of Alfredo Duno, but as a pitcher body type-wise.

2 | 2B Manuel Pena (Diamondbacks) - AA

ETA: Mid 2027

Comp: Brandon Lowe

Prime Skills: Pena is showing an elite power tool for a second baseman with a 110.6 max EV this spring where we have some statcast data on him and pairs this with a slightly above average hit tool based on a slightly below average contact rate, but the ability to get to plus power angles. There’s not much speed here, but a middle infielder with a solid hit tool and plus power is an interesting play. Pena hit .575 this week with 9 extra base hits and 5 bombs, giving him a ridiculous 8 homers in 13 games to start the season. He does not walk at all, but it should be noted he has equally mashed lefties vs. righties as a left handed hitter.

T-10 Prospects for Week 3

1 | OF Theo Gillen (Rays) - A+

ETA: 2028

Comp: Smaller, more toolsy Parker Meadows

Prime Skills: Gillen has great timing at the plate, nice load and really gets on pitches with a sweet and powerful lefty swing. He has a nice sized athletic build and should develop into a power / speed threat. He played SS in highschool, but with a weak arm has moved off to the OF. The hit tool is performing better than I had expected out of the gate with a 74.3% contact rate and near 25% line drive rate. The eye is plus with only an 8.8% SwStr%, while he’s shown but he has been a little too patient with only a 34.3% Swing%. He’s been getting to better angles this year with a plus air-pull rate, as he’s also lowered the groundball rate and increased the linedrive rate. I have not found publicly available max EVs since high school, but this year he has a reported 103.2 90th percentile EV, which is good for his age. The 99 XBH+ portends to only average-ish power over the last year plus, but it’s good to see he finished the week with 4 bombs and 5 total extra base hits along with 2 steals.

2 | SP Kade Anderson (Mariners) - AA

ETA: Mid/Late 2026

Comp: Max Fried

Prime Skills: Anderson has an arsenal that is across the board plus, against some of the other guys in the class that were elite one or two pitches without the full arsenal to do damage, but is a leaner 6’2” lefty that gives me some Max Fried vibes despite needing work on the command. He has a fastball with up to 20” of vert on it that had the second best whiff% on it in the draft class to Liam Doyle’s fastball, a 2-plane slider, a nasty diving curve and a change up with some nice fade.

1 | OF James Tibbs III (Dodgers - AAA)

ETA: Mid/Late 2026

Comp: Mike Yastrzemski

Prime Skills / Player Notes: Tibbs has shown ridiculous power this year with seven bombs already and is not a huge dude, but does show solid power with mid 20s power potential and has above average plate skills with a slightly below average hit tool. He’s been good against lefties so I think he’s a big league corner OF as long as he can keep hitting lefties like he has so far in 2026, but when will the Dodgers have room for him?

2 | SP Seth Hernandez (Pirates - A)

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Andrew Painter (yes, I’m comparing a prospect to a prospect)

Prime Skills: Hernandez is a well built starter with an old school top end starter’s arsenal, great command and a smooth delivery. The breakers need some work developing, but the fastball and changeup combo alone will help him raise quickly through the levels despite his age and with health this is a dude who could debut at 20/21 years-old.

3 | 2B Gavin Kilen (Giants - AA)

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Brendan Donovan

Prime Skills / Player Notes: Kilen was the Giants first rounder last year, picked at 13th overall and I have been higher on him than others in FYPD with a plus hit tool and potential decent power at a very weak fantasy position at second base. The Giants have been looking for a second baseman, so he could be a quick mover if Arraez fails. He has an aggressive hit profile with a great hit tool and doesn’t strike out much.

4 | SP Khristian Curtis (Pirates - AA):

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Trey Yesavage light

Prime Skills: Curtis wasn’t much on my radar last season and he seemed kind of destined to be a back end rotation guy, but that was before we had some pitch level data on him. This Spring, we got to see what he actually has in his arsenal and he’s a pretty over the top delivery guy with a fastball that touches up to 20” IVB at times and hits 97 on the gun and Trey Yesavage-like approach and arsenal with a dancing split change up, hard 12/6 cutter and a high velocity slider with above average extension.

5 | SP Owen Murphy (Braves - AA)

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Dylan Cease mash with Bryan Woo

Prime Skills: Murphy is a former first rounder with ridiculous fastball characteristics (up to 22” IVB on it.) and just returned from Tommy John. The fastball runs into the lower/mid-90s with excellent ride to it and he’s good and pounding it into the top of the zone. He throws a curve against a 12/6 slider, it would be killer if he could add a sweeper to the arsenal or something with more horizontal movement and the change up has some splitter characteristics.

Top 25 SP Prospects 2026 (pre-season)

These prospect rankings are based on FANTASY value, not on real life value. Proximity to the majors is also prominent in the equation, though these rankings are taking a longer-term / dynasty look on these guys (think of it more as a 3-5 year plan). Rather than getting into writing little bios on all of these hitters, I’ve decided to keep my rankings simple by providing the most recent year’s stats of each player across all levels, a player comp, a small blub on the player’s prime skills for fantasy including my tool grades / pitching arsenals and an explanation of my ranking that may include trending data.

Top 10 SS Prospects 2026 (Preseason)

1. SS/OF Konnor Griffin (Pirates)

ETA: Late 2026

Comp: Light Fernando Tatis Jr. with an Elly de la Cruz statistical profile

Prime Skills: Griffin is a big righty with a good arm as a high school pitcher and he has some massive power upside. The high stance and high and tight hands in his swing reminds me of Fernando Tatis Jr. and like Tatis, he will probably have plenty of swing and miss to go with the damage. Tools for days here as Griffin has already posted a max EV of 114.2 and has a 90th percentile EV of nearly 108. The hit tool is better than expected, but still might only tune in at slightly above league average as he could do better on the angles ala Elly de la Cruz coming up (52% groundball rate and only 7 degree average launch angle). Griffin was able to get 48 extra bas ts in 122 games in 2025 in addition to the 65 stolen bases on the season.

Plate Approach: 45/55
Power: 60/70
Speed: 70/70

Ranking Explanation: Griffin has the highest upside of any prospect in baseball and has shown this season to have a much safer hit tool than previously expected after some changes to his batting stance. He could maximize his skillset further by becoming more efficient on the basepaths and improving his bat path for better angles to generate a higher level of quality contact. Griffin seemingly improved upon being promoted from low A to AA throughout the course of the season and while some think he will break camp, especially with all the power he has shown - I still doubt it unless we get the magic contract. Griffin is the top prospect in baseball and also the top SS prospect as he looks like a future fantasy first rounder for quite some time.

2. 2B / SS Kevin McGonigle (Tigers)

ETA: Early 2026

Comp: Chase Utley wannabe, but the profile might be more like Nomar Garciaparra

Prime Skills: This kid has an insane hit tool and plate skills with developing power. Despite lackluster angles in our limited statcast data available with only a 6.3% barrel rate and a 103.6 90th percentile, he has recorded much higher max EVs to last year constantly touching 111 and reportedly hitting 112 mph. He’s a doubles machine with 31 doubles in only 88 games this year and pretty crazy 52 extra base hits in those 88 games, which has to be the highest XBH / game played in the minores.

Power: 55/60
Speed: 45/50

Ranking Explanation: It’s hard to show concern for a guy with such a honed hit tool and a nicely developing power stroke, however the speed has taken a dump this year as he went from 22 steals and only 2 caught stealing last year to only 10 steals and 7 times caught stealing this year. There are also some injury concerns I have that nobody wants to discuss, but he only played in 74 games last year after breaking a hamate bone and this year has only played in 88 games after starting the year late from a high ankle sprain. Griffin has a higher power/speed upside, but in a points league, I’m probably picking McGonigle first overall. I have a feeling McGonigle breaks camp with the team and should make a run for Rookie of the Year. Wetherholt may be just as good for fantasy value though - or close enough, as I expect more steals from Wetherholt.
