DFS Main Slate Preview (April 22)
A close look and three-lineup strategy for the Wednesday night slate
Slate preview posts are for all paid subs, but access to the daily projections plus all of the DFS and betting tools is limited to PRO subscribers. Become an MLB DW Pro member today to get the full access to some of the best daily MLB tools on the market!
DFS content is really cranking this year, as you might have noticed! It’s not as popular as it used to be, so I think you could say that MLB Data Warehouse is one of the best DFS content providers out there. Tell your friends!
And there’s still a big discount on. You can get all of these articles for just the standard paid subscription, which is as cheap as you’ll ever find right now. And if you want the full projections and tools, upgrade to PRO for a huge discount there as well!
Jon here covering the night slate. I want to focus in on a small field lineup build tonight. Because I noticed something last night. We can get a pretty good idea of where cash ownership is going using The Bat X projections. Everybody ran to the Rockies/Padres game last night, as I also did, and that game went 1-0, so the slate was actually pretty easy to beat if you had just faded that Coors game. And sometimes that won’t be advisable, but we should have seen it last night. Chase Dollander and Randy Vasquez have been looked sharp this year, so it would’ve made a lot of sense to go away from game, at least a bit, in DFS last night.
I do think that most cash lineups are more or less just taking the optimal from the projections and ramming it in. We had 75% ownership on Tatis last night, for example. That makes it very, very easy to lose when that cash chalk hits, as it often will in those situations.
This isn’t a recommendation to fade the chalk in double ups. It’s probably a recommendation to just not play cash at all, to be honest. The best plays are crazy owned in there, so the edge of just playing the best lineup is reduced.
What we should do, I think, is play single-entry or three-max smaller tournaments with prize pools concentrated at the top while fading that predictable high ownership.
Let’s dive deep into this slate and try to give ourselves a good shot at getting to the top of a small field three-max tonight.
