The Slate Take

The field is going to overweight the Messick chalk, underplay the Yesavage value, and mostly miss the Houston offensive case against a pitcher who is sitting at 4% ownership for a reason nobody has clearly explained. The edge is built by going the other direction on all three of those things at once. Also the timing of today’s slate is just stupid. I don’t understand why everything starts at the time it starts today and the way they split it but here we are.

Jakob Marsee at $3,900, in the second-highest hitter projection on this slate, is a great spot to fill in the outfield at a reasonable price because of its 3% ownership. You’re seeing some of the ownership trend up on him but that’s a great spot tonight. So my goal is also to find the value guys that are going to be not owned on this slate and I like the pitching projections.
