What’s kickin? Welcome to my weekly prospect report, now only found with an MLB Data Warehouse subscription! The goal of this column is to give you the most fantasy relevant prospect information throughout the last week all in one place. The format of this weekly prospect report will be a run-though of my top 15 prospects of the week.

I will try my best to highlight new prospects every week, rather than repeat names, unless the repeat is so warranted I just can’t help myself.

This should not be seen as a weekly stash rankings, but as a ranking of top performers each week through all levels. My updated top 150 rankings can currently be found on MLB Data Warehouse and thanks to Jon, we will now have regularly updated fScores throughout the year.

NOTE: Rookie status is determined by 130 ABs, or 50 IPs at the Major League level.

NOTE: All stats from Sunday, July 5th - Saturday, July 11th 2026

***NOTE: The stats will only go through Friday July 10th this week as I’m packing for a fishing trip and watching the MLB draft.

T-10 Prospects

1. 2B/3B Jansel Luis (Diamondbacks) - AA

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Tony Womack and Orlando Arcia mash

Prime Skills: Luis is a switch hitting, hit first multi-position middle infielder with some speed and developing power this year as he finally grows into his frame and has reached up to a 109 max EV this season. He has lost some contact-ability this year, but he’s aggressive in-zone at the plate and has more than doubled his home run total from last season already. Luis has been on fire the last few weeks and this week had 5 extra base hits with 3 homers and 2 steals, hitting .429. He’s likely a bench super utility player ultimately, but he should definitely reach the majors and if he grows into more power and refines his approach, could be a major league regular at some point.

Hitter Tool Grades:

  • Hit: 40/55

  • Plate Approach: 35/40

  • Power: 40/50

  • Speed: 60/60

Prospect Rank: Top 400

2. SP Jackson Baumeister (Rays) - AA

ETA: Mid/Late 2027

Comp: Nick Pivetta

Prime Skills: Baumeister is formerly a top 100 prospect for me at the beginning of 2025, but had a terrible 2025 fell significantly in my rankings. He is a big right, former second rounder who hits 97 MPH with the fastball (w/ 20” IVB) and with a hybrid cutter / slider “slutter,” he also profiles a hard 12/6 curve and pretty sick circle change up that he utilizes inside to lefties and righties. Baumeister has good extension and has been a completely different pitcher (reminiscent of his 2024 self) since June 1st with a 25.3 K-BB% and 2.25 JA ERA over this time period (5 starts). This week Baumeister had 10 strikeouts and only 2 walks while going 5 no-hit innings as he continues to re-build his prospect stock.

Arsenal Grades:

  • FA (92-97 mph): 55/65

  • FC (84-88 mph): 40/45

  • CU (76-79 mph): 45/55

  • CH (84-86 mph): 40/50

  • Command: 40/50

Prospect Rank: N/A

3. SP Zach Root (Dodgers) - A+

ETA: 2028

Comp: Ryan Weathers

Prime Skills: Root is a work horse lefty out of Arkansas in the second round of 2025 who is best known for his change up and curve, but he’s added velocity this season making the fastball a more dangerous weapon. He’s a big guy at 6’2 and has a highly deceptive, funky delivery featuring a deep coil, high leg lift and a big sling arm swing. Since joining the Dodgers player development machine, his profile has shifted beautifully. In college, Root relied heavily on a low-90s groundball sinker. The Dodgers have completely flipped the script, optimizing him to focus on a high-ride four-seamer up in the zone. It sits 93-96 mph and can touch 98 out of a tough three-quarters slot. His bread and butter for pure whiffs remains a spectacular mid-80s fading changeup with dive and a sharp, high-spin 1-to-7 slurvy curveball that plays best down in the zone, alongside a tighter cutter/slider to keep same-side bats honest. The vertical attack angle adjustments on his new four-seamer are making his secondaries play up even further as he’s sitting closer to 95-96. Root had 11 strikeouts, 2 walks and only gave up one hit in 6 shutout innings this week.

Arsenal Grades:

  • FA (93-98 mph): 45/55

  • CH (83-85 mph): 50/60

  • CU (78-82 mph): 55/60

  • FC (85-88 mph): 55/65

  • Command: 45/55

Prospect Rank: Top 400

4. SS Mairoshendrick Martinus (Dodgers) - A

ETA: Late 2027

Comp: Willy Adames light

Prime Skills: This kid is a tool shed with a rough hit tool that is beginning to come around this year as a late blooming international signee out of Curacao who has completely refined his approach in 2026 and added a more profound leg kick into his stride that has added power and contactability. He operates with an aggressive, pulled-air approach designed to maximize pull-side lift. The huge shift this season stems from his drastically improved in-zone contact rate, which has surged north of 82%, causing his total strikeout rate to plummet into the highly acceptable mid-20% range. When he connects, the data is loud. He regularly flirts with maximum exit velocities up to 110 mph, proving he possesses true plus raw power as his frame continues to fill out. Beyond the bat, his plus speed has translated beautifully into efficient base-stealing, making him an incredibly dynamic power-speed threat, but I need to see his change translate at higher levels before circling his name as a potential DUDE, especially in the Dodgers org - could be trade bait. Martinus has 40 extra base hits already this season in only 78 games and this week added 4 with 3 bombs and 4 steals hitting over .500.

Hitter Tool Grades:

  • Hit: 40/55

  • Plate Approach: 30/40

  • Power: 40/60

  • Speed: 60/55

Prospect Rank: N/A

5. 2B/SS Ryan Burrowes (White Sox) - A+

ETA: 2028

Comp: Jorge Mateo

Prime Skills: Burrowes is a jack-of-all trades type with very quiet swing mechanics, who needs to improve the base running to become a master of one - speed. He could grow into more power with his build as he’s already matched his homer total at 7 from 2024 and 2025 combined. He has an above average plate approach and slightly below average hit tool due to sub-par angles with an only average ability to make contact. Burrowes had 47 steals last season and was only caught 6 times and has been worse on the basepaths this year. If he can grow into 15 homer power and maximize his hit tool, he could be an interesting potential major leaguer for deep leagues thanks to his speed and plate skills. Burrowes had 5 extra base hits with 3 bombs and 3 steals this week while hitting over .500.

Hitter Tool Grades:

  • Hit: 35/45

  • Plate Approach: 50/55

  • Power: 35/45

  • Speed: 60/60

Prospect Rank: N/A
