A trade!
The first trade of a busy month. This one had to get in before the draft today since the White Sox wanted the pick. It’ll be a long time before we know who won the trade, we’ll have to see how the White Sox do with that pick.
But this makes me pretty happy as a Pirates fan. The Pirates get a shortstop replacement for Griffin, and a guy who has had a nice season with the bat. He just didn’t have anywhere to play in Chicago.
And they snag a reliever to help out the bullpen. Brandon Eisert has a 5.93 ERA this year but that’s on a bloated 2 HR/9. The K% and BB% are both pretty good.
So that trade makes the Pirates better right away, and it’s good for me to see them still prioritizing this year. They’ll probably lose Brandon Lowe next year, so we’re bracing for that. But it’s a really good core of players.
The White Sox, meanwhile, scored 14 runs on the back of one Tristan Peters, who hit for the cycle. This was a cycle from the 9 hole.
Murakami got back and took another walk with a double and four strikeouts. Welcome back to that guy. The White Sox lineup is as good as it’s been all year on paper now with Teel and Murakami playing together for the first time.
They were a DFS target of ours and that paid off. It was a big night for me on DFS. Easy cash win and even cashed 3/5 tourney teams for a 60% ROI there.
