I’ll be missing a Saturday of the daily notes tomorrow, so don’t hold your breath all morning waiting for them and don’t do anything drastic - they will return Sunday (or maybe Monday) and then we’ll be totally back in the normal swing of things as my life will have returned to normal.

I should probably start doing a section here for upcoming streamers or something like that. I did that for awhile, I’d have a two or three time a week post giving START/SIT for every upcoming SP. But then I didn’t have the WILL to keep it going, so I just created the SP Planner page on the app which does the work for us. Here’s what it shows for today:

So you could look for the greens and start/stream anybody from there. That would mean Jack Flaherty and Gage Jump would be in consideration today.

I can understand hesitancy in both cases. Jump has been good so far, but this game’s in Vegas with a 13.5-run total. But then, it’s THE ROAD ROCKIES! So you’re probably quite conflicted on this one. I think the 13.5 is the overriding number. You shouldn’t start the guy. Jump has actually started six times in this park already down in AAA This year. He’s given up 17 runs in 25.2 innings with four homers allowed - and that’s to AAA guys.

Gage Jump has started in Las Vegas Ballpark six times this year already. He has a 5.96 ERA there, and that was against AAA lineups.

So it’s a no-go on Jump. But I’m starting Flaherty pretty confidently tonight.

The middle of the table for tonight’s starters:

Bryce Miller’s scores will improve in a hurry here. This is an automated calculation that looks pitcher stats and opposing lineup stats, weighs them for recency, adds in park stuff, and puts the score on. So since Miller hasn’t been very good in the last couple of years until recently, and with the Nats having been very good offensively this year, it gives him a bad score. But I’d absolutely start the guy.

I’d also fire away on Jack Leiter against that bad Red Sox lineup. Although it would be much more appealing if it were at home.

A look at tomorrow:

You’ll notice some problems like this one with Griffin Jax. The script thinks he’s elite because of his elite numbers in relief from 2024-2025. But he’s not been very good as a starter, so take that into account.

The streamers I’d go after

  • Trevor McDonald vs. CHC

  • Connor Prielipp vs. STL

  • Matthew Liberatore vs. MIN

I highlighted Liberatore last Sunday when we looked at a bunch of pitchers pitching a lot better:

He’s been very good lately. The curveball has been filthy. I like that spot for him against the Twinkies.
