MLB DW UPDATES:
Weekly projections will be ready by mid-week. Sorry that I don’t have them for this week. I just need more lineups to be coming in before the mechanism for guessing at lineups several days away works. There will be a really dope app for planning ahead in both pitching and hitting once those are out.
Two start streamer pop-up box added to the SP Planner! That will show you all projected two-start SPs for the next scoring period along with their ownership and the matchup details.
DFS Optimizer: Still a huge mess. I’ll continue to work on it this week. But I’ve also reached out to the The Solver to see if we can strike up some sort of partnership with my projections. They have awesome DFS software, and they do partnerships with people - so I think it’ll happen. More to come on that.
NEW WRITER: You may have noticed yesterday! But we got this guy TREVOR (@ ffculator on X) who is a long time MLB DFS and betting guy. In fact, he was one of my very first subscribers. He’s a pro, and it seems like he’ll be contributing a lot. I just have to somehow make it worth his while!

I will not always be posting these on Sundays. I’m pretty active in my church often I have to be there early to help with stuff. But that’s not the case today, and it’s the first Sunday of the year, so we’re all still charged up.
PITCHING - THE GOOD
Dylan Cease: 24 whiffs, 26.7% SwStr%, a dozen strikeouts. He was dominant. He threw 37% sliders, 27% four-seamers, 10% sinkers, 10% curveballs, 9% changeups, and 8% sweepers. That’s way less usage between the four-seamer and slider, and everything else came up. That could really unlock a Cy Young-ish season for Cease. That’s not like a prediction, persay, but a lack of arsenal depth was something that was resulting in those down years, I think
Eury Perez: The long ball got him, which is going to happen. TJ Rumfield and Ezequiel Tovar took him deep to put three earned runs on his tally. But everything else was pristine (7 IP, 5 H, 8 SO, 1 BB, 18.3% SwStr%)
Bryan Woo: Carved up the Guardians in six innings. A 9:1 K:BB with 15 whiffs on 83 pitches.
Randy Vasquez: Here’s an interesting one! Remember that Vasquez came into spring showing elevated velocity. And he was up almost 2mph yesterday on the sinker and four-seamer. And it went well for him: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 8 SO, 3 BB. Still kinda LAME Stuff+ (FF: 98, FC: 100, CU: 108, SI: 97), and he has A LONG WAYS to come UP from last year before he’s good enough to matter for fantasy leagues. But we just might have something here, and he’s certainly a guy available just about everywhere.
Joe Boyle: He didn’t walk anybody and posted a 30.7% Ball%. Oohhh boy! 6 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 SO, 1 BB. But it was one start, and I don’t believe it yet. He had a 12% BB% last year and could not hang. I doubt he can this year, but WHO KNOWS MAN - crazier things have happened (like Edward Cabrera cutting 4+ points off his BB% last year).
Reid Detmers: It derailed last in his start, which isn’t surprising. We know he can pitch well a couple of innings at a time. But overall, you’d have to call a 9:0 K:BB with a 16.8% SwStr% on 95 pitches a good sign. 4.2 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 9 SO, 0 BB
Aaron Nola: Looked pretty CRISP with seven strikeouts and a 53.8% Strike% on 91 pitches.
