We have our first day of the season where I get held up not by my kids, but by the Statcast data not being loaded. Every night, all of the rows of data (one for every pitch thrown) captured in the previous day’s MLB games get uploaded to a page where we can grab the data. This is the base of my entire operation here, without that data I can’t run any of the scripts to do the daily notes or the daily tweets or most of the dashboards and Google sheets.

It’s after noon now and we finally got the data. I also realized that my slate preview from yesterday posted this morning. Mistake by me on the scheduling there. It’s early in the year and this is a holiday weekend so it’s been really busy and frustrating to try to get everything working right. My apologies for the sloppy start, but we’ll get it going smoother very soon.
