Mother’s Day is not the morning on which to be sitting on the computer! So I have to be brief, or sneaky, or both.
The kids are asking for breakfast and I need to make my wife some super burnt up bacon and cereal. That’s what Helga likes for breakfast. Is that what I’ve been calling her this year? Helga? Or did I confuse my old lady names?
Should I do some sort of ode to mothers? It’s kind of low hanging fruit. And mothers are ubiquitous, like everybody by definition has one. It’s like birthdays, everybody has one so they are truly nothing special. Congrats, you were born.
But the difference here, with mothers vs. birthdays, is that a mother can be good or can be bad. It’s really up to them on how effective they are as a mother. It’s one more of the more important jobs in the world. The next generation highly depends on how their mothers acted when they were in the first 5-10 years of their lives, especially those first five or so.
I don’t really like just handing out atta-boys to anyone who has ever reproduced. We can do that today, but I’d like to send an extra special and earnest tiding to the mothers who are selfless, loving, mindful, and constantly there for their kids. I had one of those, and I have an 80-grade mother for a wife of my own now. We’re 7.5 years into having kids, and it’s been a breeze thanks to her.
I’d put the number of mothers reading these notes today at less than five. And it could very well be zero. But we have to assume a greater than zero percent female readership. It’s definitely not more than 1%, but if it’s 0.5%, that’s at least a few. So I’m mostly talking to you fellow dads out there. And let’s face it, Mother’s Day really is about the dad, if you think about it.
Pitcher Data
Hitter Data
I just added this new to sheet to the collection of Google sheets. It will show you some data from yesterday’s hitters.
So we had Alec Bohm leading the way with two homers and 37 fantasy points (using DraftKings scoring). You can filter to more than zero homers and more than zero steals to get those guys, but it’s BLANK this time. Nobody did it!
