Introduction / Explanations for New Readers
Great day yesterday and a great weekend! Hope everybody had the same. We’re ready for another week of baseball so let’s get into these notes.
I don’t have a ton of time here as I’ve got a backlog of things to do for my real job, but we have to mention this Jack Suwinski dude, who hit three homers yesterday and now has 11 in just 162 plate appearances.

If we check the barrel performance sheet:
We can see he hasn’t been very “lucky” or anything on his barrels, with half of them going for homers. Two of his homers yesterday were non-barrels, so that’s a bit fortunate. I don’t think this guy has this much raw power (110.9 max launch velo and that hard-hit rate above is pretty pedestrian), and his JA score isn’t really impressive at all, so I think this mostly smoke-and-mirrors and you shouldn’t be rushing out to get him - but he’s worthy of a spot if you’re in a deep league and really hurting for outfielders (which I am in the RotoBaller staff league… damnit).
On the pitching side, we saw four pitchers go above 25 DK points ysterday

Ian Anderson has been bad this year, and even yesterday he had just a 29% CSW% and 12% SwStr% - good but not great numbers. For the year, the 19.7% K% and 10.7% BB% are just not things I want to deal with - so I think the great rookie year for him in 2020 has proven to be very misleading and I don’t think this guy is ever approaching ace-level stuff again - and for now I don’t even really think he’s all that interesting for fantasy.
I put together and sent out a winner on DraftKings yesterday. I took 344th out of 17,429 in the Relay Throw (that’s in the top 2% of lineups there), but those tournaments are so top-heavy in the payouts that my payout was $50 on a $15 entry, so not even quadrupling up. We’ll take it, of course, and it brings us back into the black on this experiment we’re doing of tracking the results in the Relay Throw and a $5 Double-Up every day.
