MLB Daily Notes: Tuesday, September 20
Introduction / Explanation For New Readers
The playoff update:
I snaked a win from Camilo Doval and popped two dingers from Rowdy Tellez and Chris Taylor (who I added for this week because the Dodgers are playing 8 games shout out to me). Had no starters going, so no update there.
Stupid Ass Clint hit .536 and scored 7 runs with a homer and 5 RBI and two steals - YIKES. However, he started Sonny Gray and Wade Miley so he has a 12.60 ERA and a 3.00 WHIP early on. That’s hot.
Today I have double-headers from Varsho, Trea, Muncy, Betts, Taylor, and McCarthy. I’m sure they all won’t play both games, but it’s a pretty great situation for me. I will also roll out Nick Lodolo against the Red Sox because he has 31 strikeouts and 1 walk over his last three starts. Someone on Reddit criticized me for being overly confident on Lodolo in my Starts & Sits column, but that guy can suck eggs cause Lodolo is THE MAN
Logan Gilbert has really turned it on lately, and dominated the Angels yesterday with a 32.7% CSW% and a sick 21.4% SwStr%. He has a 29% K% and a 3.6% BB% over the last month of play without allowing a single homer, the 4.4% Brl% and .261 xwOBA are elite - he’s been incredibly and is trending up big time for 2023.
