Super interesting five-game slate that starts at 3:40. That’s about the perfect time for a slate to start for me, right at the end of the work day. I’m getting a feel for how west coasters feel every other night of the week.
No weather issues on this one.
Game Data
Guardians vs. Grayson Rodriguez
4.88 implied, +0.86 above average
Not a very big total at 4.88. Grayson has pitched very well lately. He’s coming off seven scoreless against the Astros. I almost want to start this guy in fantasy leagues…. but maybe that’s too crazy. He stlil has a 6.41 ERA and 1.53 WHIP this year.
I don’t think I want to go full on Guardians stacking though, G-Rod’s fastball has been better and the secondaries are there as well. It could go bad, but it’s not a total smash to me on either side.
Padres vs. Bubba Chandler
Not real into stacking against Chandler either. He has not been giving up homers. He’s given up one in his last seven starts (last time vs. LAD). That said, he’s also not getting whiffs or strikeouts, so the Padres will get some balls in play and potentially do some stuff here. But it’s not a great pitcher to pick on.
Pirates vs. Randy Vasquez
Vasquez is a pitcher to pick on, and the Pirates lefties are all back and healthy. Oneil Cruz has been awesome since returning, and they still have Brandon Lowe in there. Vasquez has an 8.7% K-BB% this year with a .362 xwOBA allowed. I’m on some Bucs bats even with the bad park factor.
I have no idea what the low run implication is for the Bucs. I’d bet their over on the team total pretty confidently.
Giants vs. Nick Lodolo
Chaep bats here against Lodolo who has been mega ass this year.
Cubs vs. Eduardo Rodriguez
E-Rod keeps runs off the board, but probably not today. The Cubs are death on lefties, and I think they come through today against Rodriguez and his low K%.
D’Backs vs. Matthew Boyd
Righties have had a lot of success against Boyd with a .346 xwOBA and 13 bombs. He’s given up eight homers in his last four starts, so some D’Backs one-off righty plays are good ones.
