Weather
Looks fine. Some rain, but no big concerns.
Big temperatures in Atlanta, Minnesota, and St. Louis. That could be good for some hitters.
Game Data
Rays vs. Mason Barnett
I’d like to live in a world where we don’t have minor league parks being used in the Major Leagues. The Rays scored ten last night are in an even better spot against Barnett tonight.
The stats aren’t too bad on Barnett:
A deeper look:
102.2 Stuff+, 25% K%, but it’s probably fake. He has a very high fly ball rate (36%) and a 10.7% SwStr% with a 39% Ball%. He’s a stack-worthy SP, and I won’t be off the Rays boat like I was last night.
Dodgers vs. Michael Wacha
It’s the debut of Blake Snell, so that’s exciting for the Dodgers. Wacha takes his 18% K% into LA. Wacha has a 12% K-BB% this year but just a 1.06 HR/9 and a 3.44 ERA. He throws a bunch of changeups and generates weak contact. He hasn’t given up more than two runs in his last four starts, and mostly he’s been fine. He definitely hasn’t been someone to go out of your way to stack against.
The Dodgers are the Dodgers, though, and the Royals bullpen is bad. So you can do it; it’s just not a total smash spot.
