Weather
We might have a rainout in the Red Sox / Orioles game. Here’s from Roth:
ORANGE - Forecast models are much more aggressive with rain chances than the National Weather Service automated forecasts. Current thought is that a delay is highly likely, and a PPD is possible, but we’ve got a lot of time between now and gametime to see how things look. Will circle back...
Game Data
No runaway spot for ownership. That will happen when we’re free from Sacramento and Coors Field.
Dodgers vs. Quinn Mathews
6.06 implied, +1.22
Kind of a strange one here. Mathews pitched very well last time. That was against the Pirates, which is a much different thing than facing the Dodgers. But he’s a talented arm, it’s just about command for him. The Dodgers project well, but I’m not sure about a 6.1 run implication.
Royals vs. Sandy Alcantara
4.87 implied, +0.54
Just because they’re the second team I’m mentioning doesn’t mean it’s a good spot. No other team is implied above 4.9.
It’s just really hot in the middle of the country this week. It’s in the mid-90s with winds blowing out AGAIN in KC. The forecast is just frozen there this week; it’s been the same for three days in a row.
But no, I don’t want to play Royals against Alcantara. He’s not a fly baller with bad command like Eury who they crushed last night.
Mariners vs. Jack Perkins
4.80 implied, +0.90
The M’s are at home, but it’s against Perkins and this bad, bad Athletics bullpen. The home/road splits for the Mariners:
They haven’t hit well anywhere, but better on the road. The silver lining is that Raleigh has really gotten going, which has boosted their offense a bunch.
I think I’m on board here. The M’s are +0.9 on their season average, and ther’es there’s a lot like against Perkins and company.
Red Sox vs. Brandon Young
4.73 implied, +0.07
Nothing great here especially with the weather forecast, but Young is hittable and the Red Sox are a stack that can work.
