Jamming this out super quick for the afternoon slate. Not much time but I find it easier to make lineups for myself when I’m writing these.

Weather

I guess the deathly tornados are going to miss the baseball cities. We’re all clear for the day slate.

Game Info

We have a nice game environment in DC with the Nationals taking on Luinder Avila. they’re implied for 6.05 runs. The Cardinals are in a juiced-up spot as well against Bradgley Rodriguez at home.

Pitchers

Brutal slate here. Nolan McLean has been awful lately, but he’s the top projected arm. I don’t hate it. But the value isn’t great even with that slate-topping projection, and he hasn’t been able to throw strikes for several weeks now.

Nick Lodolo is second up against a Mets team that has struggled offensively. Lodolo has just a 10% SwStr% this year with a 17.5% K%. He’s hard to trust. I do think he’ll eventually get into the swing of things, but he has not looked good since getting back from that long IL stint to start the year with the blister stuff going on.

Casey Mize has pitched well this year but hasn’t seen an MLB game since May 27th and went just four innings in his lone rehab outing. That leads to a 75-pitch projection which isn’t what we want from a guy who isn’t usually very good.

By simple process of elimination, the cash duo would seem to be Lodolo + McLean.
