Alright I am buzzing a bit since last night, and excited for the Tuesday slate. Let’s see how many of these games I can rip through.

Slate Highlights

Pitchers

Hitters

Game by Game

NYY vs. CLE

The first five games here aren’t on the main slate.

  • Will Warren does get some strikeouts (24% K%), but he’s been really inefficient with a 13% BB% and a very high 4.7 pitches per plate appearance. I wouldn’t be using him in any form of fantasy baseball right now, and I’d expect the Guardians to get him out of there pretty quickly.

  • Tanner Bibee has just a 17% K% early on this year with a 12.6% BB%. That’s a very slow start. I would expect him to improve, but this is obviously a tough matchup against the Yanks.

  • Best matchups: Ben Rice, Jasson Dominguez

CIN vs. MIA

  • We see a lot of success on the pitching front last night with Lodolo vs. Meyer, but we have two pretty poor arms on this one. Cabrera always has that strikeout upside. Every once in awhile he’ll have some command and rack up a huge outing. I wouldn’t be shocked to see it tonight; the Reds are a beatable offense on the road, but you can never trust the great CaBBBBBBBBrera.

  • We have our new boy Eric Wagaman popping! He has a huge .608 xwOBA against pitchers like Nick Martinez, although that’s in a very short sample of just 80 pitches. Otto Lopez also makes the “best matchups” list.

SD vs. DET

  • We’re looking at some strikeouts for Pivetta. The model is all about it with a 7.95 strikeout projection. The Tigers have trouble with that (24.9% collective lineup K%).

  • That said, Riley Greene hits fly-ball righties well. I wouldn’t be surprised if he began his season turnaround tonight, even while Pivetta has himself a nice outing.

BAL vs. WSH

  • Parker under 17.5 outs was in the props post, so we like that one.

  • Dean Kremer has some trouble with left-handed hitters, so that’s good for the trio of Nats you see below.
