MLB DW Slate Preview - April 30
My rundown of today's MLB slate, including full projections and analysis for each game.
Early Slate
We have a four-game slate in the afternoon. Let’s hit some thoughts on those four.
Pitcher Highlights
Chris Sale vs. Rockies
DraftKings has him down to $8,000 for the DFS slate. The box score results haven’t been there for Sale, but as we’ve repeatedly said, he looks pretty normal in the advanced stuff. Even in Coors, I’d have a tough time not playing Sale at this price against a strikeout-heavy lineup
Tyler Anderson vs. Mariners
Apparently, Barry Bonds has been reincarnated (even though he is still alive) in the form of Jorge Polanco. But the model still likes Anderson to have a pretty good game here. The M’s have a very high strikeout rate as a team, especially at home, and Anderson has been generating a pretty competitive number of whiffs early on. The model likes him at $8,200 on the DFS slate, and it also likes the over 4.5 strikeouts line for -140.
Michael King vs. SF
You could say this is the safest early slate play for $9,700, but King has this inconsistent streak about him, the Giants aren’t the greatest matchup in the world (ranking 7th of 24 lineups ranked by the advanced algo today). I think I’m pushing towards a fade of his $9,700 DFS price tag, and the model likes under 6.5 strikeouts for +100.
