Let’s bust right into the main DFS slate preview.

Weather

Three rain spots tonight:

  • Reds vs. Pirates (probably will be fine)

  • Guardians vs. Twins (looking very bad)

  • Mariners vs. White Sox (looking pretty bad)

Pitchers

Tarik Skubal ($11,500) vs. Cardinals

I think the price might actually get the ownership decently low on him. This might be the highest SP price we have seen all year. But if it makes sense for anybody, it’s Skubal. He is rolling right now. He has 11, 8, 1, and 11 strikeouts in his last four starts and the K% is up to 33.6% on the year with a silly 2.8% BB%.

I’m not saying he’s a great play for $11.5K. It’s hard to really crush at that price tag, but if you’re just looking for a solid 20-point floor, Skubal gives you that while I don’t think anybody else does.

Jesus Luzardo ($9,300) vs. Rockies

I might actually fade Luzardo personally at this price. That could end up killing me, but I do think it’s reasonable here. I liked Sanchez a ton last night because of his ground ball heavy arsenal. Coors Field doesn’t hurt you if you don’t allow the ball to get into the air. But that’s not how Luzardo gets outs. He has a 44% GB% on the year, which is respectable, but it’s far from the league leaders. He’s given up a 24% LD% and a 25% FB%, both of those numbers are not what you’d like to see in Coors.
