In Park Predictors, we look at favorable matchups for hitters and pitchers based on where they are playing this week and the MLB DW Park Factors, which look at four years' worth of data for MLB ballparks.
There could be a lot of changes with the trade deadline looming Monday. But here’s a look at the Aug. 10-16:
HITTERS
Los Angeles Dodgers
Dodgers Stadium has been a source of right-handed power for years, ranking behind only the home parks for the Athletics, Reds and Rockies for right-handed home runs. With seven games at home (3 vs. Royals, 4 vs. Brewers), it would be a good time for the Dodger bats to get hot again.
Not surprisingly Shohei Ohtani leads the Dodgers starters in home wRC+ (168), followed by Andy Pages (142).
But Kyle Tucker (73) and Mookie Betts (78) have struggled at home. Betts has been below average on the road as well (93), but Tucker has been Tucker on the road (129). The home/road discrepancy could be explained by the $400M contract.
