Gleyber Torres/Gunnar Henderson 1+ Hit
Odds: -118
Book: DK/MGM
Gleyber Torres profiles as one of my favorite hit parlay targets for tonight's slate against the Reds, where the projections have him for 1.03 hits tonight. He gets a solid matchup against Nick Martinez, who is a simple pitcher to read for betting purposes. He attacks the strike zone aggressively, doesn't strike out or walk batters, and limits hard contact very well. He induces a lot of ground balls, and I like him for hit parlays because even on his good days he still gives up plenty of contact. Torres is hitting .292 at home this year with a hit in 7 of 10 this month, with a fantastic 91st percentile xBA and 93rd percentile xwOBA. Martinez relies heavily on the sinker/slider/4SFB/cutter combo against RHH, which Torres has great splits against hitting .382/.226/.277/.333. His biggest problem is he walks a lot and doesn’t chase much, which should be mitigated by Martinez’s very good control.
With Gleyber doing the heavy lifting, we can add in Gunnar Henderson here who the model has projected for 1.18 hits tonight. While the Orioles offense hasn't been pretty this year, Gunnar has some great recent form hitting .474 over the last week with a hit in 8 of his last 10 coming in. Kochanowicz has struggled to lefties allowing a .316 average on the season, and falls into the same ground ball inducing pitching to contact style of pitcher. This is what I’m looking to target for these parlays, and Henderson is the most consistent option hitting .329 vs RHP this season.
