LEGEND
Anchor Arms - General consensus is they are going to dominate the matchup.
Send it Guys - Expect a solid performance. Thanks to either a favorable matchup or just a hot hand.
Danger Zone - Could be an awesome start with a solid amount of upside, but it’s not a comfortable matchup.
Desperation Station - A super unfavorable matchup, but you are desperate for points, so you start them anyway.
Hard Pass - Dudes I don’t have any interest in starting.
DISCLAIMER - Starters are subject to change; we use the best information available to project who will be starting on a given day.
Monday August 17th
ANCHOR ARMS
Cristopher Sanchez vs Miami
SEND IT GUYS
Blake Snell @ Colorado - Second start back off IL, tough environment. He would be an Anchor Arm for me if he was at home.
Nolan McLean vs San Diego
Shota Imanaga vs CWS
Ranger Suarez vs Arizona
Framber Valdez @ Pittsburgh
DANGER ZONE
Michael Wacha vs Athletics
Quinn Matthews @ Cincinnati - Second career start; Cincy is such a good matchup for him.
Andre Pallante @ Cincinnati
DESPERATION STATION
Martin Perez @ Minnesota - Projections don’t like it, but he’s been OK.
Brandon Young @ Tampa Bay
Luis Castillo @ CHC
Nick Martinez vs Baltimore
Carmen Mlodzinski vs Detroit - August has not been good for Carmen.
HARD PASS
Janson Junk @ Philadelphia - Tough matchup, virtually no strikeouts.
Mitch Bratt @ Boston
Bailey Ober vs Atlanta
Mason Barnett @ Kansas City
Tomoyuki Sugano vs LAD
Walker Buehler @ NYM
Chase Petty vs St. Louis - Won’t go more than a few innings.
Rhett Lowder vs St. Louis - Doubleheader; projections don’t like either Cincy starter.
Tuesday August 18th
ANCHOR ARMS
Zack Wheeler vs Miami
Drew Rasmussen vs Toronto
SEND IT GUYS
Kyle Harrison vs Seattle - He had the double cramp and then was torched last time out. I’d be a little nervous about his health.
Payton Tolle vs Arizona
Braxton Ashcraft vs Detroit
Kevin Gausman vs CWS
Foster Griffin vs San Francisco
Kyle Leahy @ Cincinnati - Solid matchup
DANGER ZONE
Tyler Mahle @ Minnesota - He’s been fantastic for the Braves.
Eric Lauer @ Colorado - Sketchy environment.
Jose Soriano @ Tampa Bay
Bryce Miller @ Milwaukee - Another meh start last time.
Will Warren @ Baltimore - Either really good or really bad. O’s offense is rolling right now.
Jackson Kent @ Texas - Projections love him. He had a serious command issue in his first career MLB start last time out. Big-time strikeout stuff.
Zebby Matthews vs Atlanta
Shane Baz vs NYY
DESPERATION STATION
Christian Javier vs LAA - He’s a flyball pitcher in a pretty hitter-friendly park.
Andrew Abbott vs St. Louis
Robbie Ray @ NYM
George Klassen @ Houston
Jack Perkins @ Kansas City - I think he’s going to be a hard pass here soon. Royals bats don’t scare me too bad with Jack.
HARD PASS
Zac Thornton vs San Diego
Merrill Kelly @ Boston
Erick Fedde @ CHC
Carson Whisenhunt @ Cleveland
Ryan Feltner vs LAD
Cal Quantrill vs Washington
Tyler Phillips @ Philadelphia
Keider Montero @ Pittsburgh - His nice run is coming to an end.
Daniel Lynch IV vs Athletics
Wednesday August 19th
ANCHOR ARMS
Chris Sale @ Minnesota
Logan Gilbert @ Milwaukee - Bumping him up due to his awesomeness.
Chase Burns vs St. Louis
SEND IT GUYS
Paul Skenes vs Detroit - Had his start pushed back to give him some extra rest. He’s just not been good lately, with his velo trending down; it’s easy to see why they gave him extra rest.
Jacob DeGrom vs Washington - Good spot at home. He’s dealing with a tricep injury. Probably won’t make this start if I had to guess.
Parker Messick vs San Francisco
Max Fried @ Baltimore
Cade Cavalli @ Texas - Great matchup for Cade.
Dustin May vs Seattle
Jake Bennett vs Arizona
DANGER ZONE
Aaron Nola vs Miami - Projections like it; I’m more bearish. He looked like vintage Nola playing in the cornfield last week.
Sandy Alcantara @ Philadelphia
Walbert Urena @ Houston - Groundball guy; walks can get him in trouble.
Michael King @ NYM
Gage Jump @ Kansas City
Matthew Liberatore @ Cincinnati - We’ll continue to stack against the Reds for now.
Taj Bradley vs Atlanta
Chris Bassitt vs NYY - Projections realllyyy like this spot. He was decent in his return from the IL. Let’s see how start #2 goes. I’m a little bearish here as well.
Clay Holmes vs CWS
Ronel Blanco vs LAA
DESPERATION STATION
Jackson Jobe @ Pittsburgh - He didn’t look as great in his second start as he did in his first. To be fair, it was a much tougher matchup last week. He’s the last pitcher on the board, but I want to keep him here for the time being.
Shane McClanahan vs Toronto - He could be returning from the IL for this start. I’d be a little bit more hesitant here. Shane probably won’t go deep into the game.
Roki Sasaki @ Colorado - I hate this spot for Roki.
Seth Lugo vs Athletics - A’s offense sucks.
Brandon Pfaadt @ Boston
Max Scherzer @ Tampa Bay
HARD PASS
Adrian Houser @ Cleveland
Robert Stock vs San Diego - Walks too many for me to be comfortable, and Pad’s are hot.
Jose Urquidy @ CHC
Kyle Freeland vs LAD - Hey, we had him as a Desperation Station last week, and he had a solid start in San Fran. I’ll pat myself on the back for that. I don’t really think he stands a chance against the Dodgers, but they’re struggling too, so who knows.
