LEGEND

  • Anchor Arms - General consensus is they are going to dominate the matchup.

  • Send it Guys - Expect a solid performance. Thanks to either a favorable matchup or just a hot hand.

  • Danger Zone - Could be an awesome start with a solid amount of upside, but it’s not a comfortable matchup.

  • Desperation Station - A super unfavorable matchup, but you are desperate for points, so you start them anyway.

  • Hard Pass - Dudes I don’t have any interest in starting.

DISCLAIMER - Starters are subject to change; we use the best information available to project who will be starting on a given day.

Thursday August 20th

ANCHOR ARMS

  • Gerrit Cole @ Baltimore

  • Ian Seymour vs Toronto - Giving Ian a bump. Great matchup at home. Toronto has a ton of injuries and has a sub .600 OPS the past two months vs LHP!!

SEND IT GUYS

  • Gavin Williams vs San Francisco - Walks got him in trouble last start. He was due for a clunker after five double-digit strikeout games in a row.

  • Jacob DeGrom vs Washington - He has the highest projection, but since he only lasted two innings last time out and has been dealing with right triceps fatigue, I can’t trust him any higher.

  • Kyle Bradish vs NYY - He’s not trending in the right direction. Basically, it all comes down to whether he can throw his sinker for strikes or not. Which he hasn’t lately. The good news is he’s only given up two home runs in the past two months.

  • Peter Lambert vs LAA - He’s been solid.

DANGER ZONE

  • Gage Jump @ Kansas City - They are getting Maikel Garcia back, but he’s been solid on the road.

  • Robert Gasser vs Seattle

  • Landen Roupp @ Cleveland - He’s not going to get a ton of strikeouts, but a 58.9% GB% on the road the last two months will certainly play.

  • George Kirby @ Milwaukee - Last three of four starts have NOT been good. Including two on the road, I’d probably try to avoid Kirby if you can.

DESPERATION STATION

  • Andrew Alvarez @ Texas - Decent matchup, not a lot of strikeout upside.

  • Grayson Rodriguez @ Houston - He’s been trending in the right direction. He’s probably worth streaming.

  • Randy Dobnak vs Athletics - I can’t believe I’m putting Randy here. But it’s a good matchup, and believe it or not, he got 13 whiffs last time out. Thanks to his fantastic changeup.

HARD PASS

  • Anthony Kay vs Atlanta - Braves sporting a .845 OPS against LHP in August.

  • Michael McGreevy @ Cincinnati

  • Shane Bieber @ Tampa Bay - An ugly 4.34 JA SIERA over the last month.

  • Grant Holmes @ CWS - An even uglier 4.57 JA SIERA!

  • Brady Singer vs St. Louis
