LEGEND
Anchor Arms - General consensus is they are going to dominate the matchup.
Send it Guys - Expect a solid performance. Thanks to either a favorable matchup or just a hot hand.
Danger Zone - Could be an awesome start with a solid amount of upside, but it’s not a comfortable matchup.
Desperation Station - A super unfavorable matchup, but you are desperate for points, so you start them anyway.
Hard Pass - Dudes I don’t have any interest in starting.
Thursday July 2nd
ANCHOR ARMS
Jacob Misiorowski vs Cincinnati - Only concern is he went 107 pitches last time. Could be capped at 90 pitches or so this time.
Chase Burns @ Milwaukee
This Brewers vs Reds game is probably going to be an instant classic. 2:10 ET first pitch. I know I’ll be taking off half day tomorrow to watch this and kick start my patriotic weekend.
Nathan Eovaldi vs Detroit - Home field advantage.
Bryce Miller vs LAA - We originally thought he was going to pitch yesterday, but he’s going tomorrow now. Still against the Angels, he will stay an Anchor Arm.
SEND IT GUYS
Framber Valdez @ Texas - Rangers have half of their AAA roster in the lineup.
Ian Seymour @ Kansas City - Pushed back a day, but that’s alright.
DANGER ZONE
Slade Cecconi vs CWS - Generating ground balls at a 50% clip. Usually, solid results follow.
Dustin May @ Atlanta - The Card’s skipped his turn in the rotation to manage “low back pain”. That is less than ideal. He was blown up in his last start on June 21st, giving up six runs in two innings. Start with caution.
DESPERATION STATION
Alan Rangel vs Pittsburgh - He grades out as the seventh-best pitcher on Thursday. I’m not fully behind that, so he’s a desperate spot if you really need some help. He does get some whiffs, but he doesn’t get groundballs, which is concerning against the Buccos.
Jared Jones @ Philadelphia - Good news; he’s getting a ton of swing and miss. Strikeout ceiling remains very high if he could be more efficient at finishing guys off.
Davis Martin @ Cleveland
Walbert Urena @ Seattle - The blowup finally happened. Seven earned runs in his last start against the darn Athletics.
Grant Holmes vs St. Louis - Four innings out of the pen last time out, allowing one singular hit with four K’s and ZERO walks. BB’s have been his achilles heel this season.
HARD PASS
Randy Vasquez @ LAD
Roki Sasaki vs San Diego - Projections absolutely hate the spot; in fact, it likes Michael Lorenzen better. The Padres made him cry last time out. Will he make the Padres’ batters cry this time??
Ryan Gusto @ Colorado
Stephen Kolek vs Tampa Bay - He had a solid run going.
Michael Lorenzen vs Miami
Paywall here for the rest of the weekend!
