Going to be a short one today; we’ll mostly trust the projections. I’ve got another full day of pool and BBQ celebrating the 5th of July today! All jokes aside, it’s the last full week before the All-Star Break. I’m seriously debating going to the Futures Game next Sunday. Getting some boots-on-the-ground coverage for MDW.
LEGEND
Anchor Arms - General consensus is they are going to dominate the matchup.
Send it Guys - Expect a solid performance. Thanks to either a favorable matchup or just a hot hand.
Danger Zone - Could be an awesome start with a solid amount of upside, but it’s not a comfortable matchup.
Desperation Station - A super unfavorable matchup, but you are desperate for points, so you start them anyway.
Hard Pass - Dudes I don’t have any interest in starting.
Monday July 6th
ANCHOR ARMS
Cristopher Sanchez @ Kansas City
Cam Schlittler @ Tampa Bay
SEND IT GUYS
Kevin Gausman @ San Francisco - The slider just hasn’t been all that great recently. Hard to keep guys off balance with only a fastball and a splitter.
Shane McClanahan vs NYY
DANGER ZONE
Freddy Peralta @ Atlanta
Eric Lauer vs Colorado
Shane Drohan @ St. Louis - Walks have been an issue in the last couple of starts.
DESPERATION STATION
Noah Cameron vs Philadelphia
Landon Roupp vs Toronto
Brandon Pfaadt @ San Diego
HARD PASS
Mike Burrows @ Washington
Miles Mikolas vs Houston
Michael McGreevy vs Milwaukee
Kyle Freeland @ LAD - Double-digit whiff in last three starts, not an ideal matchup.
Reynaldo Lopez vs NYM
Walker Buehler vs Arizona
Tuesday July 7th
ANCHOR ARMS
Tarik Skubal vs Athletics
Jacob Misiorowski @ St. Louis
Jacob DeGrom vs LAA - Oh boy, this is an A+++ spot
Zack Wheeler @ Cincinnati
SEND IT GUYS
Paul Skenes vs Atlanta - Projections still absolutely love him.
Ian Seymour vs NYY
Max Meyer vs Seattle
Justin Wrobleski vs Colorado
George Kirby @ Miami
DANGER ZONE
Andrew Alvarez vs Houston - Just won’t give you much length, might see 80ish pitches this time around.
Jose Soriano @ Texas
Matthew Boyd @ Baltimore
Payton Tolle @ CWS
Joey Cantillo @ Minnesota - The new pitch mix has worked well. Let’s see if the league begins to adjust.
Trevor McDonald vs Toronto
Will Warren @ Tampa Bay
DESPERATION STATION
Taj Bradley vs Cleveland
Tatsuyi Imai @ Washington - You really have no clue what this guy is going to do. Well, kinda, he’s either going to be great or atrocious.
Shane Baz vs CHC
Hunter Dobbins vs Milwaukee - Possibly getting recalled from AAA to make this start, assuming Dustin May will be skipped or on IL. FUN FACT: Did you know there is another Hunter Dobbins in the Detroit farm system? It was news to me. Not positive this Hunter will make the start, something we will have to keep an eye on.
Bryce Elder @ Pittsburgh
Noah Schultz vs Boston
HARD PASS
Spencer Miles @ San Francisco - Not a built-up starter. Has great stuff.
Andrew Abbott vs Philadelphia
German Marquez vs Arizona
Jeffery Springs @ Detroit
Seth Lugo @ NYM
Zac Gallen @ San Diego
Kodai Senga vs Kansas City
Michael Lorenzen @ LAD
Wednesday July 8th
ANCHOR ARMS
Chase Burns vs Philadelphia
Dylan Cease @ San Francisco
Kyle Harrison @ St. Louis
SEND IT GUYS
Bryan Woo @ Miami - Just hasn’t been good on the road at all. If there were any spot for the M’s to piggyback, this would be the one.
MacKenzie Gore vs LAA - Might strikeout 12
Logan Webb vs Toronto
Foster Griffin vs Houston
Jake Bennett @ CWS - Taking a chance here and putting him a tier above where he projects. He’s just been so good recently.
DANGER ZONE
Hurston Waldrep @ Pittsburgh - Only second start off IL.
Connor Prielipp vs Cleveland
JT Ginn @ Detroit
Christian Scott vs Kansas City
Gerrit Cole @ Tampa Bay
Jared Jones vs Atlanta
DESPERATION STATION
Slade Cecconi @ Minnesota
Dean Kremer vs CHC
Walbert Ureana @ Texas
Michael King vs Arizona
Davis Martin vs Boston
Troy Melton vs Athletics
Roki Sasaki vs Colorado - Will the Road Rockies be able to touch up Roki, who has zero confidence in himself right now?
HARD PASS
Tim Mayza @ Cincinnati - Grades out so well, but just a bullpen bro.
Ryan Feltner @ LAD
Nick Martinez vs NYY
Colin Rea @ Baltimore
Stephen Kolek @ NYM
José Cabrera @ San Diego
Spencer Arrighetti @ Washington - Only 76 pitches last time out.
Andre Pallante vs Milwaukee
These teams are all limping into the All-Star break now. Sorry for the brevity of this post today, gotta make sure I celebrate our great country to the fullest. Hope everyone keeps all 10 toes and fingers! Happy 4th!!
