We had a pretty solid start to the series. Let’s see if we can keep it going.
Monday June 22nd
ANCHOR ARMS
Kyle Bradish @ LAA - Coming off a dominant start against the Mariners. Bradish grades out very well here.
Hunter Brown @ Toronto - This will be his second start off the IL. He was great last time out.
Drew Rasmussen vs Kansas City - On FIRE!
SEND IT GUYS
Brandon Woodruff @ Cincinnati - He was actually supposed to pitch today against Atlanta, but got pushed back. As we said last week, he pitched alright in High-A. Cincinnati's offense has been a struggle bus recently.
Foster Griffin @ Philadelphia - Lefty killer, been good on the road.
DANGER ZONE
Framber Valdez vs NYY - RHB have been giving him trouble. Framber grades out okay; if command isn’t there, it could get ugly quick.
Shane Bieber vs Houston - First start back off the IL.
Gavin Williams @ CWS - Roughed up his last time out. A 21.8% K-BB% gives me optimism that he can bounce back.
Gerrit Cole @ Detroit - He’s been better than most coming off TJ surgery. Not quite ready to put him higher yet. Although all signs point toward Cole generating good results; 49% Stike%, 0.216 BABIP, 0.241 xwOBA.
DESPERATION STATION
Edward Cabrera @ NYM - He’s got a good start grade for this matchup, but he left his last start with a cramp in his right hand. I’m a little wary of giving him a green light in fantasy.
Zebby Matthews vs LAD - Not a huge strikeout potential, hasn’t really been getting groundballs either.
Eric Lauer @ Minnesota
Andre Pallante vs Arizona - Last three starts have been solid; Arizona could change that.
Grant Holmes @ San Diego
HARD PASS
Michael Wacha @ Tampa Bay - Waka waka was so good to begin the season, but boy has that quickly gone south.
Anthony Kay vs Cleveland
Michael King vs Atlanta - Horrible command in the last month.
Sam Aldegheri vs Baltimore
Alan Rangel vs Washington - Speculation that he could make his first MLB start, we will have to keep an eye on this one. Not confirmed he will start for sure yet. He gives up a ton of homers.
Tyler Phillips vs Texas
Brady Singer vs Milwaukee - Negative goose.
Jake Bennett @ Colorado - Was decent last start out, not chancing it in Colorado.
Ryan Feltner vs Boston
Merrill Kelly @ St. Louis - Might be time for Unc to hang ‘em up.
Kodai Senga vs CHC - Made his first start last week off the IL. Walked four guys in four innings. Let’s see his command come back first.
Kumar Rocker @ Miami - Dude got rocked in his last start, he’s lost on the mound right now.
Tuesday June 23rd
ANCHOR ARMS
Joe Ryan vs LAD - GASSSS
Jesus Luzardo vs Washington
Nolan McLean vs CHC
SEND IT GUYS
Parker Messick @ CWS - Buddy shoved last week against the Brew Crew. Confirmed Dawg.
George Kirby @ Pittsburgh - After facing Baltimore twice in a row, he will head to the Steel City.
Shane Baz @ LAA - Dude has been so confusing. After a 9K outing against the Mariners, he should be able to replicate that against the Halos. But the frustrating thing with Baz is that he will be cruising along, and a defensive miscue or missed call will happen, and he will just lose all control and spiral into blowing a quality start. Just the perspective from an O’s fan, anyway. I digress.
Carlos Rodon @ Detroit
DANGER ZONE
Sonny Gray @ Colorado - Grades out well, but a little wary in Colorado. Almost 50% GB% in the last month.
Robbie Ray vs Athletics
Shane McClanahan vs Kansas City - Doesn’t have a great start grade, but I have faith in my guy Shane. Almost 60% GB over the past month; just need to limit the walks.
Sandy Alcantara vs Texas
Trey Yesavage vs Houston - Had a solid start going last time out and crapped the bed in the sixth inning. He’s extremely reliant on the fastball/splitter combo. If one isn’t working, then he’s screwed.
DESPERATION STATION
Casey Mize vs NYY - Second start off IL.
Nick Lodolo vs Milwaukee - He grades out well, maybe we should just trust the projections, but I have my doubts. Velo was down last start, where he was obliterated by the Mets. I’m personally passing on Nick, but we’ll leave him here since the new projections love ‘em.
Justin Wrobleski @ Minnesota - Another decent grade. I just can’t get behind him on the road. He’s been super lucky.
Kyle Leahy vs Arizona
Peter Lambert @ Toronto - Hasn’t walked anyone in the last two starts. Decent on the road.
Brandon Sproat @ Cincinnati - I like this spot for Brandon, just be careful with the forecast in Great American Small Park.
Zack Littell @ Philadelphia - Call me crazy, but I don’t hate this spot. Projections think otherwise, but Zack has pitched way above his pay grade this season for the Nats. Last two starts haven’t been great (4+ runs in both). Maybe Zack will come back to the norm. Division game - give me the #NATITUDE.
HARD PASS
Sean Sullivan @ San Francisco - Not going deep into the game.
Ryan Johnson vs Baltimore - Performed well in AA, buddy probably needs some more time in the minors, but Angels gonna Angel.
Luinder Avila @ Tampa Bay
Mitch Keller @ Seattle - I don’t think I can start Mitch again until he gets these walks under control.
JR Ritchie @ San Diego - Another spot I don’t mind but projections hate. Pitchers park and subpar Pad’s offense are on JR’s side. He doesn’t really strike guys out, so he's probably not worth starting. I was very close to putting him in Desperation Station.
Eduardo Rodriguez @ St. Louis
Aaron Civale @ San Francisco - Given up 5+ runs in the last three starts.
German Marquez vs Atlanta - First MLB start since May 1st.
Javier Assad @ NYM
Wednesday June 24th
ANCHOR ARMS
Tarik Skubal vs NYY
Jacob DeGrom @ Miami - Hasn’t been as good on the road, could be a fade spot in DFS. Not bad enough to bench in regular fantasy.
Shohei Ohtani @ Minnesota - He’s got new dad strength, as I’m writing this on Father’s Day. Double Whammy.
Braxton Ashcraft vs Seattle
Ryan Weathers @ Detroit - Bold take, but Weathers is going to spin a gem on Wednesday. Tigers are striking out at a 30% clip against lefties.
SEND IT GUYS
Griffin Jax vs Kansas City - We had Jax in the Danger Zone last time out. He allowed two solo homers through five innings. Let my boy cook against the stinkin’ Royals.
Bryan Woo @ Pittsburgh - The only reason he isn’t an anchor arm is because of his road splits. Kinda concerning.
Ranger Suarez @ Colorado - Projections, and I think Ranger can hold his own here.
Ben Brown @ NYM
Jose Soriano vs Baltimore - Last time out, I called him a hard pass. He went ahead and threw five innings, allowing four runs, including a homer, walking four, and allowing six hits. I think I can call that a win since he has pitched so well this season. Let me know in the comments if you think he was worthy of at least a Danger Zone rating.
Kevin Gausman vs Houston K- This guy man… Absolutely hosed us last time out. He was pitching so well and just imploded against the Cubs, allowing seven runs. Run it back, he’s a vet, he’ll be fine.
DANGER ZONE
Sean Manaea vs CHC - Cubs mash against lefties; otherwise, he’d be a send it guy.
Eury Perez vs Texas - First game off IL; obviously has a huge ceiling. Not sure how deep he’ll go into the game.
Aaron Nola @ Washington - Not great on the road.
Shane Drohan - Great stuff, probably going to try to stream his start.
Gage Jump @ San Francisco
DESPERATION STATION
Tanner Bibee @ CWS
Trey Gibson @ LAA - Trey, without a doubt, read my first edition of Start & Sits. I called him out and said he doesn’t strikeout and sit his behind on the pine. What does he do? Five innings of three-run ball, striking out EIGHT BIG BAD DODGERS!!! He wasn’t very efficient, but his “deathball” slider had a crazy 29.4% SwStr%.
Noah Cameron @ Tampa Bay
Martin Perez @ San Diego - Dude posted another great start. Keep it rolling.
HARD PASS
Kyle Freeland vs Boston - Had a nice start last time out, but it's not a spot I’m going to attack.
Connor Prielipp @ Minnesota - Hasn’t been great the last couple of starts. League might’ve figured him out for now.
Brandon Pfaadt @ St. Louis - First start back in MLB after his brief stint in AAA.
Tyler Mahle vs Athletics - Ditto ^
Matthew Liberatore vs Arizona - I CALLED IT, dude was destined to get rocked last time out and did rightfully so.
Rhett Lowder vs Milwaukee
Erick Fedde vs Cleveland
Mike Burrows @ Toronto - Pitched an inning out of the pen on June 19th. Looked okay, but hasn’t started on June 13th.
Miles Mikolas vs Philadelphia
Randy Vasquez vs Atlanta
If anyone has any suggestions for anything they’d like me to add to these, leave a comment below!!
