Jon and I have come up with a new series to add to our fantasy football section.
Survive & Advance will look at NFL survivor pools and which matchups are most favorable to use each week. The goal is simple: win each week while saving a few better teams to use later in the season.
I take it week by week. It’s hard to win the whole thing if you pick some scrub team during the first few weeks, trying to save the big dogs for later. Although that’s typically how you win these things. There’s a little bit of luck involved, as in life. Survive and Advance.

Quick Thoughts
Safest remaining win - Chargers (-9.5) at home vs. Arizona
Best Week 1 burn - Jaguars (-8.5) at home vs. Cleveland
Do not touch - Bills, Chiefs, Eagles, Lions if you can avoid them
Public ownership is already clustering: Chargers ~27–33%, Jaguars ~23–27%, Lions ~13–15%. That obviously matters in a big pool. It barely matters in a 20-person office pool.
