The 2025 Player Ranks Release!

The 2025 player ranks are released after my months-long journey of ranking all players one by one as I went through the team previews series

The team previews are still bleeding out, and they’ll continue to be published well into February. However, I have reached the end of my ranking process and am ready to release the ranks to paid subscribers.

Below the paywall, there is a link to a Google Sheet that has all of my rankings. I did not integrate pitchers with hitters, and I even left relievers and starters separate. I really have no idea how to properly rank those different positions together, so I’m just not going to bother. What you have on the Google Sheet are 10 tabs

  • Hitters: This is all hitters together, there are currently 304 hitters ranked

  • SP: All starting pitchers ranked together, currently 169 names in length

  • RP: My closer rankings. I did that with standard saves leagues in mind, holds played no part

  • Prospects: These are players that have not debuted in the Major Leagues this year that I think will debut this year and have a good chance of being useful enough in the fantasy game to consider drafting

And then a tab for each individual hitter position. Inside those is where you’ll find the tiers for hitters.

There will be many updates as we get closer to the beginning of the season. If you find any players missing or anything that seems really weird or stupid, please let me know.

For the free subscribers, here’s a little sample to entice you: my first three tiers of starting pitchers.

You see that I have notes for each guy there. I did not make notes for most of the relievers, but all starters and hitters have some commentary with them that I added as I wrote them up in the team previews.

These ranks will also be updated in the Draft Buddy resource constantly. There’s a tab on there for hitters, SPs, and RPs. I have designed a little Python button I can push to update all the projections and rankings in those Draft Buddy resources, so that’s pretty nice. Just remember that you’ll have to grab a fresh copy of the Draft Buddy of your choosing to get all of the updates. After you save one into your own Google Drive, I can no longer update anything on it.
