Want to play in a high-stakes fantasy baseball league against me? Thanks to our friends at the NFBC, you can! There’s a league called “Beat Jon Anderson” that will be drafting on February 2nd at 8 pm.
First-come, first-served, there are 11 slots for the taking.
The Online Championship is one of their most popular formats. I’ll summarize the rules here:
12 teams
Snake draft
60 seconds per pick
FAAB league
5x5 Roto
R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG
W, SV, ERA, WHIP, SO
C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MI, CI, OFx3, Px9, BENCH x7 (26 rounds)
$350 to enter
1st place in league = $1,400
2nd place in league = $700
Overall scoring component
$150,000 grand prize
There are dozens of leagues and prizes for the best overall teams among all leagues
That’s a high league fee, so I get that it doesn’t appeal to a high percentage of fantasy baseballers.
So I’ve been talking with the guys over there about hopefully running a series of $25 leagues called the MLB DW Invitational. That would be a lot of fun and a lot more accessible. We’ll have updates on that when it comes to fruition.
I’m not entirely sure what happens if we don’t fill it, so let’s not let that happen!
