The Bullpen Tracker: AL
A weekly article looking for saves and holds across the league
This is “Rob’s” second bullpen article, and the start of a series we hope can keep going all season long on Wednesdays. He’ll be going team-by-team through each league (AL one week, NL the next, etc.) to update us on the closer situation and the best names for holds. As I mentioned last time, he’s an anonymous writer, so I’ll be publishing them (Jon), but you can give the post a like or a comment, and “Rob” will see them and probably appreciate it!
Here he is:
March 25 – April 7
I’ll be going team-by-team, breaking down bullpen dynamics for the upcoming weeks—highlighting closers and key holds options.
We’ll alternate AL/NL every Wednesday, keeping this updated all season.
🟠 Baltimore Orioles
Closer: Ryan Helsley
Helsley is locked in. Nothing to see here—he’s the guy.
Holds: Yennier Cano, Keegan Akin
With Kittredge expected on the IL and Bautista on the 60-day IL, Cano and Akin should dominate early hold chances.
