Atlanta Braves
Closer: Raisel Iglesias
Iglesias isn’t moving off his role as closer. One of the better option in the league. Up to 24 saves on the year.
Holders: Tyler Kinley, Dylan Lee, Robert Suarez (15 day IL expected return - unknown), Didier Fuentes
It is still unknown when Suarez will return, so Dylan Lee remains an elite holds option. Kinley is next, but I wouldn’t make him a high priority.
Miami Marlins
Closer: Pete Fairbanks
Fairbanks should remain the closer for the rest of the season. He has 17 saves on the year but none in the last week. The Marlins just aren’t good enough to make him a reliable source of saves.
Holders: Michael Peterson
Removing Calvin Faucher. The Marlins have no saves and no holds in the last week. As an entire team, that is embarrassing. Peterson still has 18 holds on the season, so at least that is a bit respectable.
New York Mets
Closer: Committee (Devin Williams 15 day IL - expected return late August)
Williams is injured so the Mets will make up the saves with a plethora of guys. Kodai Senga recorded the most recent save. I wouldn’t feel confident trying to pinpoint who they will favor while Williams is out.
Holders: None
The Mets bullpen was decimated at the trade deadline. They have almost an entirely new staff in the pen. I don’t feel confident in recommending anyone, but I wanted to shine a light on Yan in case someone out there is living under a rock. He is so funny on the mound with his celebrations.
