Raise your hand if you bet on Hughes yesterday, who literally went over his hits, earned runs, and walks 1.1 innings into the game. It was frankly unbelievable how quick he did it. At least if he was going to crush this, he crushed us. That way Henderson was a no-sweat, and Baltimore didn’t get it done, so we’re gonna go after a couple spots today.
Well, we get Sean Burke today on what I think is a fantastic line. He’s frankly been incredible since right before the All-Star break, striking out 10, two times, 11 once. This is the number one K team versus righties in the league. He’s been putting up, overall, a 27.5 K percentage, a 12.5 swing-and-miss percent, and a 25% whiff rate. We know how much Cincinnati can strike out, and we’re getting it for plus money. That’s just entirely too much value to pass up.
