We are into round SIX. And if you missed the beginning, I’m using fifteen-pick rounds, so do the math (5*15) and you find out that we’re into picks 76-90.
Here’s what we’ve got:
SHARP: DYLAN CEASE
In this guy’s opinion, one of the sharpest things you can do is to keep trusting the underlying stats even when they lead you astray more than once. Cease hasn’t left the best taste in fantasy players’ mouths the last three years.
But, as we’ll see in the upcoming Blue Jays preview, Cease’s bad seasons have been mostly determined by BABIP and LOB%, two stats that are largely out of a pitcher’s control.
And even while the ratios haven’t been pristine because of some of that luck and inconsistency (4.18 ERA), he leads the league in strikeouts over the last three seasons (653 of them in 534.1 innings). Sometimes, it’s that simple. You can grab the best strikeout pitcher in the league over the last three years in rounds 5-7.
More on Cease from me:
FISH: GERALDO PERDOMO
I’ve already written this twice now, so I’ll just link it.
Career year to fade: Geraldo Perdomo
D’Backs Preview: Geraldo Perdomo
Long story short: it’s probably not going to be a horrible pick, but the skills just don’t seem to be there to justify this top 100 price after a pretty much come-out-of-nowhere 2025 super-breakout season.
