If you’re reading this, you’re in a big-time fantasy matchup this week. You’re probably in the playoffs, or maybe you’re banging down the door of the playoffs and still well within contention. Let’s have at some streamer picks for these next four days.
To reset our minds a bit on which matchups are good and bad, here are some key team hitting stats from the second half (July 16th and on).
Some real surprises there. The White Sox have been good, the Cubs have been kinda bad. The Reds and Rays have really fallen to the bottom, and so on and so forth.
Monday, August 25
Cam Schlittler vs. Nationals
Edward Cabrera vs. Braves
Max Scherzer vs. Twins
Emmet Sheehan vs. Reds
Jose Soriano vs. Rangers
Ian Seymour vs. Guardians
J.T. Ginn vs. Tigers
Johan Oviedo vs. Cardinals
I will admit that Schlittler, Cabrera, and Scherzer are probably owned in your leagues. But they’re under 50% on Yahoo, so they qualify here.
Emmet Sheehan is in a really nice matchup with the Road Reds. He’st hrown 91 pitches in his each of his last two starts with 13 strikeouts total. He has talent and the season JA ERA is just fine at 3.25. If he can keep the Reds in the ballyard, he’ll likely have a nice outing, and it’s good to see those recent pitch counts being up there in the 90 range.
