I felt pretty good about the names I found in the first couple of posts, but man, it’s slim pickings in this range. There are plenty of good RPs who could end up in closer roles, so I suppose I’d be using a few late-round picks on those types of guys. But as for starting pitchers and position players, you’re typically not looking at guys with starting roles. And the ones who do have a shot to play aren’t very good.

But let’s get to digging!

Hitters

Emmanuel Rodriguez, Twins

2025 was largely a lost season for the Twins prospect. He played just 60 games, hitting .267/.435/.414 with just six homers. I don’t think he’s ever going to be a Major League stud. He strikes out a lot and is overly patient at the plate with one of the lowest swing rates you’ll find. That keeps a lot of production off the board.

But he has massive power, and I think he’ll eventually find his way into a strong side platoon with the Twins. You’ll probably be able to bag a home run per week or so with him in your starting lineup.

Adrian Del Castillo, Diamondbacks

I was banging this drum last year, and we did get 44 MLB games from ADC last year, but it didn’t work out:

→ 131 PA, .242/.290/.393, 4 HR, 36% K%, 3% BB%

Injuries limited him to just 14 games in the minors. He started the year with a shoulder injury that cost him the first two months. It’s possible he was never fully right.

I think he’ll make the big league squad out of camp, and that brings some serious upside. He hit .290/.385/.530 with 40 bombs in 898 PAs from 2023-2024. The guy can rake. He needs to make the adjustments against Major League pitching and find regular reps, splitting time with Gabriel Moreno and hopefully playing a good bit as DH. But the upside is there for this price.

Jeferson Quero, Brewers

Quero has been a top Brewers prospect for a good bit, but he hasn’t played much baseball the last two seasons due to injury. But he should enter the 2026 season healthy and have a shot at getting on the Major League team before long.

His fScores:

The stats:

He seems like a Gabriel Moreno type to me. Good defense and some batting-average potential, with little raw power. Milwaukee’s park adds a couple of dingers, but the fPower being at 102 with just the 31 PA/HR in his minor league career makes me think he’ll be another ~15 homer catcher rather than being a guy who can bomb 25+.
